Difference of review page between a dotcom site and wordpress and blogpot

I am planning to do the amazon associate thing, but i wonder should i register a domain to draw traffic to the selling page in amazon, or just in wordpress or blogpot, so i could save the hosting fee..? Whats the pro and con between these three?

If a reviews site was hosted on blogspot or wordpress, I would not take it very seriously. If your not going to take your site seriously, why should I?

Also, by hosting your own site, you have much more control. at anytime wordpress and blogspot can shut you down, and there is nothing you can do about it. All of your hard work lost in a matter of seconds.

You really should do all of them. WordPress, BlogPot, Ezine, HubPages, and all those other sites allow you to start driving traffic. Some of them also offer links that will be followed by search engines, sometimes when certain standards or conditions are met. Regardless, you need to find a way to bring people to you and your domain.

Don't put anything commercial on a free wordpress.COM blog. They will shut you down.

Most importantly: save us time and READ their TOS!

Ha, you beat me to it.

When people here talk about using wordpress for marketing, it refers to them taking the program and installing it on their own host where they can do what they want.

Wordpress.com is owned by wordpress, and blogger is owned by google. When you create a free site on these, you don't have full control over what you can do on the site.

Blogger will allow you to promote, but again if they change the rules one day you will have to follow suit.

You can get your own hosting and domain, and install wordpress on your host or upload an html or php type site.

When you get your own host and domain, you can really set the site up the way you want. People like using wordpress (blogging platform) as there are a lot of plugins, templates, etc that can be customized to your liking.
