Ever have one of those weeks?...

I've spent a lot of time the last week doing stuff I didn't anticipate or want to and not doing the things I did hope to for other reasons.

Yes, it's been one of those weeks - server crashes, Wordpress "Missed Schedule" post problems, sites down, a sick cat, a broken down car, a chipped tooth..Rather than me regurgitating the minor traumas here, you can follow my tale of woe here if you have a mind to...

So how has your week been?

Sometimes we have bad days when things are not working well. What I do is to learn from them so that it won't happen again. After my computer crashed, I learn my lesson and back up my data. After a virus attack, now I make sure my computer is protected with anti virus programs.

The second thing I do is to count my blessings. That puts things in perspective. I am grateful I am healthy, I am loved by my family, I have a job, I sleep well, and never have to go hungry. What more can I ask?

  • Sometimes unexpected events comes in at the same time like a kaleidoscope world. It happens to others if not all at some point, just remember to relax, compose yourself and think.... you gain nothing anyway if you panic.

I've been having a couple of those weeks. I have also discovered over the course of my years as a freelancer that the very best way to ensure that nothing happens the way you want it to is to try to plan your day ahead of time. Maybe it's just my own brand of luck or something but I find that as soon as I start to make plans a bunch of crazy things nobody could have predicted start happening to eff those plans right up.

I'm having one of those weeks as well. In fact, my "week" is turning more into months lol.

My S/O and I are currently living "day by day" while we're settling into a place of our own. Its amazing to realize every little thing you have to buy when you're literally starting from scratch....and to top it off, I'm starting to get burnt out from writing articles...*sigh*

But I'm not here to whine about my situation, but when I feel overwhelmed with my problems here's the first thing I do:

    Count my blessings.

I know, I know. Its something that everyone tells you to do. And honestly, when you're having one of those "days" it can be hard to do it. But I stop, breathe and start counting...

    1. I'm alive.
    2. I have a roof over my head.
    3. I have friends, family, and an amazing boyfriend that care about me.
    4. I know that in order to reach the good, you have to be willing to walk through the bad.
    5. I'm in (somewhat) good health.
    6. I'm mentally stable.
    7. My arms, legs, eyes, nose, etc. are all attached and working properly (I know a lot of people don't think about this one, but you'll be amazed at how quickly the world changes when you only have one leg or no arms).
And then I go and find some motivational music, post, story, etc., and start building myself back up and fight my way through it.
