Unique Methods for Improving Conversion Rates

I'm looking for unique ways to improve CTR and conversions on links/forms on my sites. I got to thinking about this after discovering the WordPress Ad-Slider Plug-in on WebsiteDesign.com That plug-in lets you slide an ad up from the bottom of the browser window and include a link or opt-in form. The CTR/Conversions have been pretty freakin' amazing, so now i want to find other unique ways like this to increase conversions even better.

Anyone using cool stuff for conversions? Anyone try ad-slider on their WP site and have some good power tips?

Hey RelicWeb. I've used that plugin myself and it works great with WordPress. Best part is its Free.

One thing is though, if it doesn't work with your theme you'll need to contact the developers on the forums at their site. If themes don't use the correct Hooks, information won't be pulled in correctly.

I use my own product - see sig for link. If you want to see an example of what it does take a look at 'AdsReact' Example. Use is not restricted to ads; you could use it for sign up forms too.

use scarcity tactic, email follow ups, give also a freebie (people love it) and also discount.

I posted this in another thread about increasing opt-ins, but it's short so I'll repost it here. Hopefully it helps. Enjoy!

You say you're on Wordpress, so some things I've done are:

    1. There's a plugin called "What Would Seth Godin Do" the shows new visitors a customized message - use this to tell them about your item. Tell them they can get it by subscribing or by leaving a comment, a neat trick for which you need:

    2. There's another plugin called "aweber wordpress plugin" (brilliant title, I know) but it's the one that allows signups to register with aweber when people leave a comment. Put a reminder there too, that if they check the box, they can get the freebie just by leaving a comment.

    3. A final plugin called "Comment Prompt" I believe. It will remind visitors after a few repeat visits to leave a comment. So if you have the above plugin, it's a way to get opt-ins through encouraging that route.

A popup sometimes works and sometimes doesn't - it depends on if the people in that niche are the kind that hate popups on principal.

You might also like to try one of those footer popups as well. Those are a bit more subtle, so if you don't have success with a full-on popup, you can try that.

    Hope that helps!
I wanted to add that this is not just a technical conversion tactic, but a psychological one as well because it shifts the focus from "opting in" to posting a comment, which is usually something they want to do anyway if your blog is engaging them to.

Fair warning: It's possible I'm arguing with you because I have nothing better to do.
