Hostgator has the best one I know in terms of commissin payout. But i'm a customer of D9 Hosting and love it to bits. They have a good affiliates program too.

    hey guys,

i've used a couple of webhosting affiliates for the past few years.
From my personal experience, there are a couple of bad apples out there. Some don't pay you. Some highlight you as paid, but no moolah in your paypal or check in your mailbox.
Some AM don't even communicate with you. And one of my worst experience is getting a paycheck for $900++ by paypal. My paypal account got freezed the next day. Why did it happen? Your guess is as good as mine.

Also i observed that webhosting affiliates who run on their own are better. Not through commisionjunction etc...

I hope this won't dampen your efforts/plans in webhosting affiliates. And sorry, i won't name names.

I've only ever used IXWebhosting for hosting and affiliating purposes. While I can't guarantee I'm not in error on this, I believe they do monthly payouts. That being said they only pay out once your account reaches a certain level, something like $350. So you'd have to be doing that much in commissions each month.

I'd be very interested to hear the names of some of the bad ones you refer to.

Thirdsphere killed theres. Hostgator, ixweb, liquid all are good. I would shamelessly self promote here but there are so many choices.

this mostly stems from people having to remain a paying subscriber for 60 days and not cancelling their account or getting a refund, before you get paid for the referral.

it makes sense that you don't get paid if they cancel that early, since the commission is so high, but you do pretty much have to take their word for that being what happened, which is unfortunate.

so what if i get my people to sign up for 2 months in advance? I have heard stories though about hostgator not paying when all is legit. I mean who knows right?

Is there an alternative that pays as high as hostgator and is reliable? Thx

HostGator takes so long to payout. Example: If you made a sale June 1st then you would get paid at the end of August. That's one thing I hate.

Colton, the way I understand it is all of the hosting places take at least 2 months to pay out.

True. Mostly to cover their money-back guarantee period. But its worth than not having an affiliate partnership and not making any money off your site that shows up well in the search engines

Just be sure you won't get paid for every referral , web hosting companies pay their affiliates an amount which is more than the cost for one year web hosting , they say so , and if you ask them why , they will say because we are looking into the second year the client would be with us , a big percentage of clients keep changing web hosting company every 2-5 months , so there is always a game behind web hosting affiliate , you will never be paid what your website may generate , be sure you wont get more than 3 sales out of 10 Good Luck
