Hi WF,

I am currently in discussion with a site owner about purchasing his site. Whilst purchasing the whole site could prove profitable, I am not willing to part with the 10,000 asking price. The main reason for sale of the site is the fact he hasn't been able to keep adding quality content on a regular basis, so the site hasn't reach its full potential.

We have been in negotiations for a percentile sale where I would manage the content. US$2000 for 20-25(still in discussion on this) percent of the websites 'continuity stream', I am assuming this means profit minus the sites running costs.

The website pulls in 1000-2500 in affiliate revenue a month and 75000 to 100000 visitors a month from organic searches.

I am now looking for advice on the sale as far as risks go and legalities.

Has anyone had any experience purchasing a portion of a website?

I have also requested Affliate screenshots of revenue, site traffic screenshots. Anything else I should request before proceeding further negotiations. I have verified that the site does indeed receive that amount of traffic.

Thanks for all your help,
Toby

Managed to secure a deal of US4000 for a 50/50 cut of the website.

All of the profit will be returned to me for the first 4-6 months til I get my initial invest back. Then the profit after that 4000 will be divided 50/50 between me and the owner.

Sound too good to be true?
