fake 'registration' e-mail requests?

Curious if anyone else has received any of these? Basically, I'm running a WSO and someone says that they paid for it. I've replaced the username/order "details" with 'xxx's, but I get the feeling the user that sent me this PM just made it up... Has anyone else received these types of messages? (PS, I know it's fake, simply because I have never heard of this registration provider. If someone is going to send a fake e-mail/order, they should at least get the provider right ).

    I've had one or two that try to do that. That's why it's a good idea that people don't ...
    never mind. If I say what it is, people will start doing it more.

    I've had people who's echecks have bounced and then they email me and say ... hey ... why didn't I get a download link? duh .... because I didn't get a payment.

      On the other hand, perhaps it might be a good idea to raise awareness of that. For me, it was other rather trivial just to look up and see if I had any such order in my system, which of course I didn't...
