I have NO idea why but for some strange reason most people seem
to think there's no reason to back link their videos on youtube.

A Youtube video will rise in the SERPS like anything else if you back link it.

In terms of internal rankings at Youtube, all the normal stuff really,
take care with your TITLE, keywords, and especially tags.

Go and track down your competition and see what they are up to and
    take note with your tags.

Make video responses to videos similar to yours and ensure you give
them you're Youtube channel ID in the video.

I'm pretty sure there's some decent WSO on YOutube domination kicking
about that have a bunch of useful tips in them.

I think linking the video to your email address and/or posting on websites and asking for a review on the quality of the video. I did an interesting video voice over for a company call Findaloop and they placed on Youtube and it seemed to work, maybe a little too well.

Backlinks, amount of views, amount of ratings all play a part

another way to increase the views on your video is embedding your link other video sharing site and also on your blog or website. all this will count as views on your you tube account. hope this helps with what SimonHarrison shared

Just like increasing traffic to a website, there are many, many ways to increase traffic to a YouTube video...

    - If you are targeting a keyword phrase or market, then just like Simon said above, use good SEO techniques to help in the SERPs.

    - Don't just post your video on YouTube...Did you know, Twitter is a top refer for videos (click here for the article to back it up) and according to comScore's latest video rankings (click here for the article), Facebook's video views have tripled.

    - Also, don't just post one video, treat your YT account like a blog and continue to post new videos several times a week.

    - Post video responses to other popular videos on YouTube.

These are just some suggestions, again, there are many things you can do, but, and this is the most important, like everything on the web, if you really want more traffic, views, etc. it comes down to the content itself.

If you post a video whose content is informational and engaging then you will have no problems getting views, people will find it and pass it along.

Lastly, check out ReelSeo.com every once in a while, great blog/news site for online video marketing.

Don't know exactly what you mean by that but if you mean to say that your video on you tube is not getting enough hits then you can pair it up with social bookmarking and article writing.... Place your videos on your articles to drive traffic to it as well as to you sales/landing page or to your site... Or you can submit your videos to some social bookmarking site like facebook or twitter to gain extra hits..... Just a suggestion though....

I try to make it controversial so it goes viral in a flash, but that also means you get low ratings from some persons. The key is to make it connect with people and they will rec it to others via twitter and other services. Also, make the movie short and sweet as sugar. Also, I have found that it is a good idea to add music. ♫

Ah.. instead of doing many things to your one video, why don't you work out on a way to produce more interesting viral videos?

The BIGGEST way to generate any traffic including "video traffic" is using the right

keywords "hint hint" product names, company names, when you use the right

    hai CDawson,

1.Use keywords in title with benefit of the video.
    2. Use links in description also use the synonyms of your Title keyword in description. also give the benefit of the video i description.
    3. Use same keyword Tags which used in title and description also synonyms
    4. Upload caption for your video, now youtube crawl captions to show search results.
    5. Use unique category that is different from other popular video category for particular keyword..because youtube video results cover all the categories in search results.
    6. submit your videos as video response to popular videos in the same search key word.
    7. give one like and favorite when you upload your videos..
    8. use annotation to your other videos to increase your video traffic.
    9. create playlist with popular video along with your video on top

This will give you huge traffic for your videos because youtube is just like google, it crawls only the text information that you attached in your uploaded video. so while uploading video concentrate on text info.

    best of luck..

Produce quality videos, use related tags.

Create an interesting preview image - you can upload custom preview images when you edit the video.

Bookmark the video on social bookmarking sites (digg, stumble, mister-wong, mixx,,,),

Join forums that have the ability to embed the video, post the video in threads that are related to the topic of the video.

If you know any bloggers, ask them to use your videos as content for their blog.

If you have a facebook page, link your youtube account and your facebook account.

If you have a twitter account, link your youtube and twitter account.

Just combine multiple tactics to bring more views. Like getting your video ranked for a searched keyword in youtube is important. Then stealing views is important, start doing video responses. Then build links to your video and also do comments on other videos. Then you can pay Youtube for higher ranking, its called promoted videos. You can also buy channels.
