Hey all,

I have a problem and a very time consuming problem....

Basically I have a travel insurance website that compares the cheapest insurance policy's

The problem is their prices keep changing and I have to keep updating them which is a big pain!

Does anyone know of a way to automate this or even just get it all sent to me in an email other the having to keep checking?

Thanks

Ricky

I have no idea what i'm talking about - but i do have a friend who does a lot of 'back end' programming who was doing something similar (not /w insurance)... perhaps go onto freelancer and ask a back end programmer if its possible, i think it is.

Can you pull the pricing from an RSS feed? Or if they are in a database you couse SQL2RSS to dynamically update your website.

  • there are a few services that can provide an rss feed whenever a webpage changes or send you an email

    even google provides this service

Official Google Reader Blog: Follow changes to any website

Ricky why are you not pulling the live xml feeds in from the provider, they should all supply them, you would then only need a script to pull them into your space.

The other option would be use a 'white label' plugin type set up.
