How do You sell Adspace on your blog or site?

INTERNET MARKETING

I was just wondering, is there a gold standard way for someone with a 1+ year old fitness blog to get started selling ad space???

I am new to selling adspace and had gotten numerous offers already on this and would really like some help from fellow wariors on how to do this properly?? Any templates, resources, etc??

Hmm, try putting up images where banners could go, or advertising and say "Advertise here. Click here to contact us." or something like that and see if you get offers. I get offers on one of my forums to buy advertising space a lot and I don't even solicit it.

I assume you've already got plenty of visitors to your blog. This will be the appeal of advertising with you.

Two ways...

You could set up a simple sales page on your blog selling advertising space.

Secondly, try approaching people who have websites related to your blog subject and asking whether they would like to advertise on your blog. However, don't annoy anyone just do it in a nice friendly way.

  you can always approach text link ads as well. they sell text links to people who want decent backlinks. you get paid a flat fee per month per link, and you can still sell other advertising as well

I'm wondering about the penalty involved in text link ads. My understanding is that people's pr has gone down of their sites. I assume that isn't true for paid advertisers in general but I think programs that sell/buy links may be under scrutiny.

Perhaps you can approach local fitness centers.
