Facebook Doesn't Like Internet Marketing

6 replies
I've been trying to run an add on facebook and I keep getting rejected even though I've tried various different websites. I keep getting rejected for the same reasons:

* The content advertised by this ad is restricted per section 5 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines. Restricted content includes, but is not limited to:

1. Downloadable products that may affect the user's computer or browser performance in unexpected or undesirable ways;
2. Get rich quick and other money making opportunities that offer compensation for little or no investment, including "work from home" opportunities positioned as alternatives to part-time or full-time employment or promises of monetary gain with no strings attached.
3. "Free" offers that require users to complete several hidden steps or make additional purchases in order to receive the promised product.

It seems that facebook doesn't like anything that makes the user opt-in, or anything that has anything to do with an info product or a free offer. anyone else run into this problem? And what did you do to counter it?

    I suggest creating a profile or group related to your specific product. And provide useful information to your members. Build a relationship first and become a trusted advisor. Most of the social network sites frown on direct ads, but what you do on your own personal page is your business (exceptions of course).

    Yes facebook does not like it when you take people outside of facebook, I will say take them to a fan page with your opt in form, then when they opt in take them to your offer. But I do know a lot of Internet Marketers who having success with facebook ads.

      I've used FB many times, one of which was an offer for a free ebook (where they opted in on my site). I would also advertise my own products and the ads when directly to my sales page.

      What types of products are you trying to promote and is your FB account newer?

      BTW...I don't really use FB much anymore because their CPC for my niche was very high and the conversion rate very low (FB users aren't really looking to buy), BUT FB is great for relationship building. Start a fan page (or a few pages) related to your product(s). Use your own page to direct friends to your fan page. Friend people who "like" similar products and then direct them to your fan page. Give away a lot of great info on your product (ebooks, videos, etc), then sell them later. FB is great for that!

    Yeap, FB does not like it when you take people off site, I tried using it for promoting internet marketing seminars and the ad was not approved.
