What to do with 14k+ Twitter Followers?

Hey there gang,

When I first signed up to Twitter I had no idea what it was or how to use it. Although much hasn't changed now, I did go out and recruit a heap of followers and to this day it is sitting somewhere between 14,000 and 15,000.

So my question, is what do I do with all of these followers?

If I want to monetize this Twitter list (which I think is reasonable, not massive) what would you do?

Any suggestions?

James

Have you got your own product to promote? If not try a bit of CPA, that might be your best bet.

    Hey James.

The first thing I would suggest is to interact with your followers. And then, bind them to your interaction.

Later you can promote your products, CPA etc. But first, you must set a relationship with them.

    Just my 2 cents

I understand the 'building relationships' theory, but with 14k people?

I do converse with some people on Twitter, but its not like I am talking with anywhere near all of them...

Lol. You won't be ever be able to converse with 14k. Even if you can build a relationship with a few real people, it will work. And sometimes, they'll also RT your tweets, giving you even more exposure.

Personally, though, I just hate Twitter. It's just a fad.

Definitely interact and build relationships with them.
    What are there interests.
You could then offer free products in those areas building up to the option of paid complimentary products.
Check out my signature I give away quite nice commissions but it's in the IM niche.
Depends if your followers are interested in that niche.

    Thanks

Typically my followers would be 'weight/fat loss' and fitness crowd.

I might try to use that for some list building opportunity.

Make a special report to give away, basic squeeze page etc.

This is nearer the way to go.

Don't try and direct sell from Twitter to an offer it has low low conversions IMHO.

Much better as others have said to build a relationship with them. You can do that by publishing articles (do some keyword research to find hot topics) on a blog and tweeting about it. Offer Tweet tips every now and then. Also point them to other info on the web that is related to what they may find interesting. Other tweets that work are quotes if related to your niche.

You can add adsense to start getting some cash flowing and ultimately get them on your list from your blog and carry on the relationship building. I would suggest that you use an exit pop up to capture their email.
