Articles being used without author bio box.

Hello,

I wanted to ask some of the article writers in here a question about websites that are using ezine articles with the bio link removed. I punched in one of my articles in google and right away I see sites with the article with the bio and link removed.

I know I can contact the website owner and see if they will install it. Of course some of the sites are bogus contact info so I could try to find who registered the site.

My question is what is the general opinion about this process. Sure, in a perfect world it would be nice if they didn't scrape my work but how much time should one put into this.

Is it best to spend the time writing new articles instead of chasing deadbeats?

Or what?

Thanks,
Gary

Just ask them to put up a bio, thats it. If they don't- screw them.

In fact isn't article directories made for webmasters to use the articles legally with bio boxes?

I usually post a comment thanking them for posting my article and invite them to visit my site.

NO -they are not. If you will read the terms of any major article directory you will find the bio box must be included with a live link for those who use the article on their sites.

You cannot just take what you want from an article directory and place it on your site without the author's resource box - any site owner should KNOW that!

        Dude, read my post above.
What I meant to say is that article directories are made for people to use the articles WITH all the credits intact...

It happens. I found if you write to them and ask them nicely include your bio, they'll usually apologize and tell you they forgot.

I find this happening on new or old "junk" sites with very little traffic anyway.

However, I believe the PPC'ers violate this more than anyone else. In fact, I recently saw a PPC video tutorial where a well known PPC trainer showed his campaign using articles from EZA to satisfy the google "quality content" requirement, yet only including a dead link to the authors bio page - no bio box. This is certainly a violation as well.

It happened to me a few times but you just need to ignore them and that's it. Yes, we want every person that uses our articles to post out links too but Imagine if you run after every website owner to do this for you.

I personally don't think that this is productive on my part.

Unfortunately, this happens all too often. Short of asking them to remove it, there is not too much that can be done.

I find this happens with some of my blog posts. I don't really have time to chase people down and complain, so I just keep writing. It's very annoying, though.
