Looking for some advice on eshop retail :)

Hi, it's been quite a while since I have posted on here, feels kind of refreshing to be back on WF

I am looking for a little advice from you guys on something.
I am planning to start an eshop in the next few weeks if all goes well.

I have looked through the previous posts about eshops but nothing seems to exactly fit on what I'm looking for, either that or I did not find what I wanted to.

I would like to create an eshop of which the products can have multiple variations.

I would also like to add and allow users to become part of the business and sell their own creations on the site too and earn an amount from the final sale, which would be automatically transferred after the number of days stated by the user , say after a month or every 90 days etc.

Looking through all the posts I basically lost track of where to go.

I have come accross these 2 places which may do the job, but I would like your oppinions on the matter as I do not want to make the wrong choice , well at least not right off the start line

Here are the 2 sites i have come accross:

Ecommerce software products - ecommerce shop software - Shopcreator
Ecommerce Solutions Provider | Create Online Shop with Daily.co.uk

Their not affiliate links or anything

I have seen the name hostgator come up alot, I'll look into it aswell as from what I have read they seem to be very good.

Thank you,

Mun

      Hi Mun,

I work for an ecommerce provider at my day job so I know a lot about the different platforms out there. I work for Claimtheweb.com - we are the White labeled solution for Stomper Commerce (the tool stompernet provides to their customers).

To be honest I don't know of a platform that has all the functionality that you want built right into the out of the box software. The products having multiple variations can be done with attributes on most platforms but the functionality to:

"I would also like to add and allow users to become part of the business and sell their own creations on the site too and earn an amount from the final sale, which would be automatically transferred after the number of days stated by the user , say after a month or every 90 days etc."

is pretty custom and I don't know if you'd be able to find a provider that really provided that right out of the box. It could be customized though. We could definitely customize our cart to do something like that. We'd want to sit down with you and define the scope of work and then give you a quote on that functionality.

Anyway - hope that helps - doesn't look like you got a lot of love on this post.

Take a look at the following. I don't know if your familiar with wordpress or not. Even if your not, it's not that hard to learn. It'll save you alot of money in the long run, than having to hire a programmer to be updating your site. The following wordpress themes come with tutorials to teach you how to setup and use the site. Wordpress themes are highly customizable to suit your needs, you can even hire the designer themselves through this site to get it how you want, and then you can update on your own.

Hi thank you both for the replies, I'll definately look into both and I will know exactly whats needed once I've got a detailed plan down on paper.

I'll most likelly need a mix of both solutions, having a custome shop design that is easy to update and also a custom shopping cart.

Your advice is very much appreaciated :
