How do you protect your sales from cookie droppers

I have read that if a someone is stuffing cookies their cookie will get credit for a sale even if a visitor to my site has clicked my affilliate link.

Is this correct and how do I stop it.

Is there a way to knock their cookie and replace it with mine? And how do I make it effective only when people are visiting my site.
I would like to make sure I get credit for the things people do on my site. If I need to make money by stealing from others than I'm better off poor.

Is there some code that will allow this to happen.

    As long as your link was the last thing they followed before getting to the merchant, you'll be credited with the sale.
    The problem comes in when the person visits the stuffers page after your's and then goes back to the merchant without clicking on your link again.

    There is no way to avoid it and if the merchant is doing it, that's a whole nother can o' worms.
