$3,450 in Fraud Sales This Month - WARNING

Just a heads up...

Lately, I've been getting hit with lots of fraudulent credit card transactions.

Scammers are signing up for the affiliate program for some of my membership sites and using stolen credit cards to make sales in an attempt to get a commission.

Watch out for this - especially if you're running a private affiliate program.

One sure way to tell is if the affiliate has like a 100% conversion rate. For example, if they've generated 40 sales from 40 clicks, you know that they're trying to scam you.

Yeah, good times... When I was running an affiliate program that paid $200 commissions, I started getting bogus orders at the end of the month. The tip-off is when there are virtually no affiliate clickthroughs to line up with the sales.

7 affiliate ID clickthroughs which result in two $500 orders, and affiliate payments are supposed to be sent to a sketchy foreign country?

Luckily, I always figured out the orders were fraudulent before paying commissions, but I still had to deal with chargebacks from the stolen credit cards that were used. Good times.

I used to get hit a lot on fraudulent credit card charges - one month nearly $40,000 in losses. I now restrict credit card sales from countries that have a high credit card fraud originatation such as Eastern Europe and some African countries. You can get a monthly report from the major credit card companies of which countries to be wary of.

    Hey Ron,

Thanks for the heads up. It is amazing the lengths people will go to try to scam people. If people would just put that much effort into actually trying to run a profitable business they would probably end up very well off.
