Default Stress Release or Procrastination?

Here's why I am struggling to get any work done at the moment!

And boy, is it a welcome distraction! Sometimes you just need to take some time to relax, and playing with the cat can do wonders for my mood.

What do you do for stress release? What do you do to let go for 5 minutes so you can refocus on the important things after letting go of all the negative energy?

Who do you bash with it?

For short-term, I have a treadmill right next to my desk - I hop on that for 15 to 20 minutes to chill out. Works wonders for me and re-energizes me.

Jimi Hendrix, mostly -- but he's dead and can't fight back!

"Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgement will be surer."

Leonardo da Vinci

Now there's a guy who achieved success!

I always advocate this to my clients. Give yourself regular breaks and your mind will feel refreshed when you return.

When you do return, the important thing is to come back to your work with total focus. Something I have always believed and something that I am being reminded of by Allen Graves (as I devour his wonderful Article Marketing Handbook).

Come to your work with a steadfast focus and block out every other distraction. Even if you make the decision to only work for ten minutes before taking another break. Make that ten minutes the most focussed. Concentrate on that one thing totally - and you will surprise and excite yourself.

I drink a Perrier and I go out on the terrace take deep breaths of fresh air listening to some music. 5 minutes later, i feel relaxed and ready to return to my activities.

I come here and throw disparaging remarks at Big Mike.

It's so relaxing and then I can totally refocus on my next disparaging remark.
