Can an ezine article be used as a press release?

I'm starting to look at press release marketing. I have several 500-600 word articles on ezinearticles.com.

Am I able to just reformat these and submit as a press release?

Please advise.

well , I recommend you rewrite your article until it's unique and then do your press release . Buy yeah , you can most definitely use them for press release.

As others have said, you can..but, try to rewrite the titles to sound "newsworthy"

How unique does a press release have to be? If I pull phrases from the sales letter, is it necessary to completely rewrite them? The salesletter I'm looking at now has all the information I want to include (obviously I wouldn't include all of it), and there are several points I'd like to use. Mostly stuff like "all natural herbal colon cleansing treatment."

Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very"; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. ~Mark Twain

You can use words and phrases from your sales letter, I've never had any trouble with that..

Press releases don't need to be unique when you're syndicating them. Meaning you can have one unique press release and submit it to multiple PR sites. Search engines will like that because press releases are different than articles.
