A Question About Screen Capture Software

What is the best (with a reasonable price) screen capture software to use if I want to make videos that I can convert into files I can upload to youtube and the other directories. Just standard, screen shots with a voice over stuff.

I am new to this so I am hesitant to spend the 300 on Camtasia. Can anyone point me in the right direction and explain what I might need to know?

Johnny, if you don't want to spend the 300 bucks on Camtasia, download
Camstudio. It's free and will do a decent, if not great job.

Use Camstudio with Powerpoint (or free OpenOffice alternative Impress). Create a slideshow, talk over it. Upload. Done.

Yes, and it is really good but Jing only lets you make videos no longer than 5 min max.

      Go with camstudio.
