Need Some Advice on RSS Submitting - Best Practice?

Hey everybody,

Hope all is well with you this weekend!

I'm getting really confused about the best practices for RSS submission - I'm about to outsource the work, and I like to make training video's for my outsourcers so I'm holding fire at the moment..

The more I read, the more confused I get..

Initially I'm told to get RSS feed links from my Web2.0 properties and submit each one into a few RSS feed directories.

Another article says : Use Feedburner or Feedage and then submit your feedage RSS link because it is better keyword optimised?

Finally, I'm told to merge all of the Web 2.0 RSS feeds together using certain websites (RSSMix or something?) and then submit this new "merged" RSS feed into the RSS directories.

It's your classic information overload!

What is the best practice and why? Or am I just over-thinking this whole damn thing?

Thanks in advance

Information overload is a pain ain't it.

Well here's what you should do with rss feeds.

If you are using firefox, look at the end of the web address bar and click on the orange icon. Click subscribe to rss and it should take you to the page where the rss feed is on directly. Copy the address you see that as "rss" at the end of it and paste it to note pad.

Do this to all of your properties and paste them into notepad.

Then next you should do is use some sort of submission tool like rssbot etc. to submit the links for you. Paste the rss links and enter the keywords that you want backlinks for into the info field.

Next just click submit and it should start posting it to all the rss directories. Previously you were able to rank an rss feed in google for a while. Now they only seem to work as back links.
