Just add it to public_html, or whatever your root folder is called. You don't need to add it within the the Wordpress folders, that will make the path to it too complicated.

If you upload to your root folder, then it's address is just mydomain.com/mydoc.pdf

    Hope that makes sense

If you do it as part of a post or page, use the media upload button and let WordPress do the heavy lifting.

    Open up your FTP client.

Drag the PDF file into the root directory.

Your file can be downloaded at www.yourdomain.com/yourfile.pdf

  • Here is how to upload your PDF through Wordpress:

    1. Log-in to your Wordpress Administrative Dashboard
    2. Go to Media -> Add New
    3. Click the "Select Files" button
    4. Select your PDF file

The file should automatically upload to your web server. After the file transfers, Wordpress will display a window that allows you to copy the file's URL.

I just upload it to the media folder and then give my reader the link.. Seems to be the fastest and easiest way for me.

Using filezilla (free resource), just select your pdf file and upload it to the "Public Html" folder on your site. The file can then be downloaded at this link - www.yourwebsite.com/filename.pdf
