What is the best widget, plugin or solution to tracking traffic on a WP site that has hundreds of pages? Something that doesn't require you to add code to each page manually?

Thanks, Ron

I would suggest AwStats. Its a free stats program that is standard on most hosting accounts. Do you have cPanel? it should be in there.

if not your host should be able to install it easily and it's free.

i actually just posted a blog on my site about AwStats and how to use it. Click my signature to visit my blog.

If you put the code in your footer it will show up on all the pages.
Awstats will count all pages separately. Then there is the latest visitors tool in cpanel that tells you where visitors are coming from.
Quantcast tells you what regions your visitors are coming from, and also what they are likely to buy. Put its code in your footer and it starts counting immediately.

So many people don't seem to realize that just because the WP dashboard gives you the ability to make some changes, there are actual theme files that load everytime you go to a page on your blog. Just the same as any website!

So yes, put it in the footer.php file before your </body> tag. If you need help, just let me know.

Don't waste time with plugins for something so simple. You're just going to have another thing running when you load your blog. Put it in the theme files please. Don't be scared of them!

Just place google analytics quote in your WP site to track your traffic.
