What was your first sale?

In another thread the discussion led to how important that first sale is - whether it be your own product or as an affiliate. When you receive that first payment notification suddenly, what you have always hoped was possible is now a reality. It changes things completely.

So, what was your first sale and how did it make you feel?

Well, my sister and I had an online scrapbooking store years ago - and the same day we launched, sales started coming in. It was a total and complete high... Fast forward, I bought a site of flippa and started an adwords campaign. It pretty much seemed to be going nowhere until one day - the paypal notification came. Again, it's a total high - I laughed! Now neither site has been particularly successful - although there have been more sales - but it's left an impression on me. I'm addicted and working a bit everyday to hone my IM and get other sites going.

    To your success!

That's funny. Btw, just checked out your website, love the graphics. Who did those for you?

I believe it was a CB product on love spells that I sold using the paid version of US Free Ads. Lol, I am pretty sure it is not even up any more at CB, but I remember thinking "Damn, people do make money through affiliate marketing."

From that point on I was hooked and a believer. In Internet Marketing, not love spells, lol.

Mine was Rocket French using ebay classified ads. It was grey-hat at the time and didn't last long but it gave me the hunger I needed to succeed.

I have a squidoo lens which promotes Amazon products, and my first sale was 2 baby teethers. Needless to say, I was ecstatic and realized it could work!

My first online sale was 13-14 years ago. I had a service, plus I sold physical products. I don't remember which sold first. Probably the service.

LOL Believe it or not, my first sale was in the early 2000's (not 100% sure when) and it was the original Rich Jerk ebook. I put up a site, had no clue how to market it or get traffic or anything. There it sat forever doing nothing, then one day someone landed on it somehow and bought the Rich Jerk through my link.

I don't quite remember when my 1st sale occurred but I believe it was my 1st check I received from Google Adsense in 2002. It was just a little over $100 and you wouldn't believe how thrilled I was. : )

Of my own product - my first sale was piano music. I recorded classical piano music and put it on CDBaby, who then transferred it to a bunch of digital media sites.

Of affiliate products, it was a $1 lead for OurStage.com.

Somewhere back around '94, I bought into one of those $1000 per month guaranteed programs where you do absolutely nothing and they pay you.

Seems the only guarantee was they would go out of business before they paid what they promised. But, I still made a few hundred even though it was a net loss.
