Blog URL: dot.com OR dot.tv...

Hey all...
Now this is a good question even if I say so myself.

Ok... I'm going to be setting up a new blog and upload a short video everyday so the blog will be like a mini-tv station.

My question is should the blog end with dot.com OR dot.tv (ie www.blogdomain.tv).

Basically is there more value either way??

I understand it's all down to the way you market your blog (ie as a "blog tv station" etc) but just not sure on the dot.tv bit.

I've noticed this very (VERY!) successful blogger who does a daily video has dot.tv in the URL: Wine Library TV: Gary Vaynerchuk's daily wine video blog

Um - well not quite .tv but you get the picture!!!

(I can hear you all say - "Man - a daily video is a huge responsability!!" - I plan to devote 2 days a week to writing and shooting them and upload the files daily).

Many people are only aware of .com, so I'd go with that.

If you want, get the same thing as a .tv and redirect that to the .com.

Or redirect the other way, but make it so if people type in .com, they get to your site.

He's a very successful Youtuber and uses dot tv. However, dot tv is much more expensive to register.

Personally, I've tried most of the different URL endings.

I've always had more success with .COM - without question.

Being in Canada, I've also been considering the new .CA - but
my better judgement says => stay with .COM :-)

How's it going?

Given the choice go for a dotcom every time. You can set up the dottv too but redirect it, as previously stated, to the dotcom. You can even brand your site BeauMiles tv, but always try to have a dotcom suffix. It's simply what prospects and customers alike are used to.

Also, if you are going to be regularly updating video content "like a mini tv station" consider using wordpress with a theme like;

Quommunication - New Kind of Design Solutions

or

High-Def Video & Multimedia Wordpress Theme | Graph Paper Press

this will make your life so much easier.
