Using s3 Amazon for the first time....Getting somebody to make the movies using SONY VEGUS MOVIE....

What should be the best Export Size (output) of the video to use for this Amazon s3......

a) for the least distortion,

b) for the best streamability?

c) The cheapest option? (I guess size of file comes in to play?)

I want a Large video/so that the words on the video are clear, but also the filesize not being too big, to make the amazon COST expensive.

The video is a set of Powerpoint slides, made into the video....

I dont know about the video 'Automatically playing' either....

    Use Camtasia 6 to record the powerpoint videos and export them as MP4 videos at something like 640x480. You can then use a service like Ezs3 to embed those videos on whatever site you like. Just make sure when you embed the video that you keep the size of it in the same ratio as to which it was recorded. MP4 videos will give you the small file size you are after without compromising on quality.

        Yes, but you will need a video player to embed your S3 video onto your website. I use and recommend a service called ezs3. You just upload your videos to your S3 account and you can then create video players for them using ezs3. It's the same service guys like Frank Kern and Ryan Deiss use to host their video players. It will definitely work for MP4 videos as I have done it many times myself. As for the size of the video, if its a powerpoint narration it usually ends up about 1MB for every minute of recording when exported as an MP4 video.

          I thought you Host the video on Amazon s3, then make a webpage in dreamweaver, and then host it on your service, and simply link the Webpage to the S3 amazon video, and it plays?

          I thought the 'video player' was automatically in this
          AmazonS3<-> Webpage hosted?

            No, if you just link to the file on Amazon S3, all you will see is the link to the file on your webpage (like a download link). You need a video player if you want to embed the video on your website. You can either upload all the Camtasia Video files to Amazon S3 and use that player or for a much easier option, just use ezs3. You don't need to upload anything else except for your video file. Once you've selected a few options it will just give you some embed code you can paste right away into your webpage - much like if you were to embed a youtube video on your webpage.

    These sort of options are dependent on the video player you use. In ezs3, you can choose to have the video play automatically, you can choose to hide the video controls, you can choose the thumbnail image you want to display before the video is played, etc, etc.

      Would it be better, to take the video (From the sony vegus export output) format, and import it into camtasia,

      and then export it again using camtasia, with an Embedded player button?

        If you are only recording Powerpoint slide narrations then you really shouldn't need to use Sony Vegas. Record the video in Camtasia, do any editing you need, and then export it as an mp4 file.

          We are not used to camtasia but just Sony vegus for now, so want to use both..... the slides in Sony vegus, and the Output (Play/Volume) features on Camtasia... Exporting the Sony vegus movie file to camtasia
