Non-Google, Yahoo, Hotmail free email hosts

Just got a payment today from Break Studios and it came from the address "bigboys.net". So I googled them and found out they're a free email hosting service.

Does anyone use this (or other) email hosting services that are free w/o being hooked to a big conglomerate like Google or Yahoo? If so, what is your experience with them (same, better, worse than Google)?

And am I the only fed up with the fact that Google makes you confirm new Gmail addresses (not just Google Accounts) with a phone number? Is there a two address per number limit? If so, I guess I'll never be making any more YouTube accounts again for differing niches, as I don't have that many phone numbers!

GMX is definitely underrated. It's very powerful too. They give you 5G space, 50M limit per attachment, SMTP / POP3 / IMAP, Webmail, mobile Web interface. All this for free. Free Webmail and E-Mail by GMX | Sign Up Now!

No, you're not the only one

I *think* the limit is 10 addresses per number, at least that's when I hit the ceiling a couple of months back. It may have changed now.

It seems to be a moving target though, because I set up a new address a few days ago with the same number and it worked again, after being declined for too many uses a couple of months ago.

Like most Google "rules" there's probably nowhere you can verify it for sure, and it probably changes from one day to the next.

    John
