INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

Anyone here with their own web 2.0 social network communities
going strong?

What software/script do you use to create and maintain the
community and and why?

What do you look for by way of security of your members?

Is it easy to find contractors who will do the development
and maintenance for your chosen platform?

Also - any "words of wisdom" for someone who's just starting
to explore setting something like this up? Things to avoid;
things to specify when hiring a developer for the project?

I don't have my community now although I am planning to build one. I hope you don't mind me to share what I come up with my research.

The software or services that I think work best for a social community will be between Social Web CMS (social voting site like Digg) or KickApps (full fledge social networking).

My plan to promote these sites will be via PPC or article marketing. I have not seen a full plan or guide (even paid ones) on how to promote a social community so I guess some Warriors here can come up with one and sell it via WSO.
