Good conversion rate baselines...?

Hi Warriors,

I'm new to IM and I'm sure theres probably a quicker to describe this, but I'm not too sure how so i'm just going to explain...

I wanted to know whether this can be considered a good conversation rate...

- Prospect sees & clicks on my ad (over 2% CTR - as far as I know this can be considered ok)

- On landing page, prospect then clicks affiliate link - 20% CTR. <--- Is this good or bad? I wanted to know whether I should start playing around with the landing page or leave it, as it may be performing ok. (obviously I want more but i'm not a perfectionist)

I also don't know how to split test a landing page yet. (i'm using wordpress, is this possible?)

Personally, at that stage, i'm thinking 20% is not very good at all, but this is just a call for baseline conversion rates I could expect for various aspects of marketing.

Anytime a conversion rate comes into play, would anybody be willing to share what sort of numbers are a good and reasonable target to aim for?

Thanks for any help offered!

Split testing landing pages can be done with many different tools, and a minimum baseline for that would be 40% (for targeted traffic). Just keep tweaking. As far as PPC ads, I know nothing about them, sorry :-/ Keep up the good work though :-)
