Because it's easier and faster to write articles then ebooks.

But ebooks have one major advantage over articles: ebooks can be shared.

You write free articles and post them to directories. They stay there and get read every so often.

Free ebooks get copied and spread around to many places. Done right, free ebook can explode your traffic.

Many don't realize it but people GO and read free articles but GET free ebooks. Going somewhere means work. Getting something means no work. That's how I see it.

At the end, it's easier to write 300 word aricle that it is to write 20 page ebook. We're lazy beings... :-)

Actually, article directories are designed to allow other site owners to repost your article on their websites the same way ebooks are expected to be spread around.

Am I right in thinking this isn't a way to make money from selling an eBook, but rather the cash flow would come from affiliate links within the eBook's I would upload?

What a fabulous list! I create eBooks for my clients. Some sell them, but some give them away for free to opt-in subscribers. I will advise them to also submit them to these sites for even more exposure. Cool beans. ;-)

I need to promote a eBook for free (if possible). Where can I get the websites lists (eBooks submission sites) so that i can submit my eBook? Am not sure I can find such free sites or not. In my opinion, I don;t think I'll find them .Correct me if I'm wrong..

Thanks for sharing tasso, i have an alternative to free submission sites. Its a site where you can list en ebook for 29c and sell it for as much as you like with no selling fees. there is only 1 list fee so you can sell hundreds for 29c. Imagine selling your normally free ebook, you will be getting paid to build your list of buyers and then have an upsell in the ebook itself.
