Thank You Dana for this thread. I'm just starting out and this info is much needed...
I am wondering if you know if there are better Press Release Submission sites for certain niches? Do some favor certain types of submissions over others? I am starting a local business here in Tucson that will specialize in "integrating online marketing techniques with local offline small businesses", web design, customer lead capture, seo management, video production, etc.. Are there certain submission sites that would be better suited for this type of press release...being it would be more "geo-targeted"? I ask not only for myself, but for future localized clients which I will be doing press releases for... |

I updated the list again, adding a couple of new free press release sites that I discovered. |

Hey dana,
First of all this is a killer resource, thanks for posting about it here. Its very useful. I was really interested to read a post further up the page saying that a Press release with prweb.com for $80 generated around a 1000 visitors. Thats pretty sweet. You mentioned webwire though. You said you had heard good things. Can you expand or elaborate on that any further? I am thinking of using their 49 dollar option, but if people with experience think it isn't worth it, I may just bite the bullet and go with the $80 option t prweb.com. Can you shine any light on this for a press release newbie? Cheers Alex

At this point with the testing that I've done I would have to say PRWeb drives the most traffic.
The free press release sites are good because they provide a bunch of backlinks and I have been able to get clients multiple spots on page 1 of Google for our keyword phrases, using the free sites. Webwire is decent, but PRWeb drives WAY more traffic. |

Thanks Dana.
Is webwire worth entertaining then? I am starting to think I should take the small financial hit and do the 80 dollar thing with prweb. Maybe supplement with free press release sites for those decent backlinks. Appreciate the help.
