hi guysz,

i dont know if you have faced the same situation but this is the scenario that i face while trying to build a list.

PPC is too expensive

Solo Ads dont work

i cant adswap without 500 subscribers

i dont know how to setup a PPV campaign to build a list

other PPC engines which are cheaper dont show my ads for no reason.

Anyone cares to share their sure fire method for building a list?

Who says solo ads don't work? LOL!

Buy solo ads from a real person, preferably a "guru", with a huge list.

Pay him some money to promote your squeeze page to his list.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

Avoid those solo ads sites with attractively low prices, usually, the quality is questionable.

PPC doesn't work if you don't know your metrics. If you have a solid, tested funnel you could pay for lots of advertising on the front end. It's all about treating it like a business!

If list building isn't working for you, then try something else! Despite what you may hear, you don't have to build a list to make money online.

I wasted years trying to build profitable list and failed and yes it ws my fault but still... Once I tried a new method I started making money.

Besides you can always revisit list building later on.

You don't have to build a list to make money but for the long term, a list is very important in my opinion. Why not build a blog/website, do SEO and try to build a list as you make money? This strategy works perfect for me

        ^^^ this is spot on.

Heck, it's not terribly difficult to recoup most (if not all) of your ppc expenses just with a decent OTO as your landing page after they subscribe.

List building is important, but you don't necessarily have to have one to make money. I do not have that big of a list, but I am able to make a full time income without one, although I am going to concentrate on building the list bigger to expand my opportunities. Without paying for ppc or ppv, it's going to take a long time to build one though. Good luck to you.

I use Free Classified Ads for listing building and they work just fine for me and the people I work with. Anyone who tells you they don’t work is either full of it or simply isn’t experiencing success with the method. It cost me nothing to build a responsive list this way.

    Free Classified Ads Work.

I can't believe how whiney this thread title is.

    Come on!

The entire world is against you?

    Get real.

No-one's going to build your list for you.

Many of us have lists that we've build over time and not using any of the things you mention.

You're after a short cut - get real and start offering people value and building relationships and your list will build itself.

Despite what people say - the money is NOT in the list.

The money is in the value you offer people. Having a list means nothing.

If you offer value and show it to enough people you will have a list.

So stop trying to build a list and start trying to help people.

You do not have to use Google Adwords or Solo Ads in order to build a list. While I have done some of that advertising, I do not use them regularly to build my email list.

Try article marketing, classified ads, and document sharing. These are three great traffic generation methods that can bring targeted traffic to your squeeze page.

As Andy said, offer quality content to your subscribers, and focus on helping people. You will be rewarded.

1 - if you believe the entire world is against you, it is. change your attitude.
2- PPC is not too expensive if you do it right. if it is then don't use it.
3- if solo ads don't work for you, don't use them. but they do work for many.
4- don't do adswaps then, buy ads in e-newsletters.
5- give value and content and work HARD daily at it. i don't know any sure fire way to build a list. but i do know the sure fire way to not build a list is to not try hard enough and smart enough and just enough period.

Sounds like you have a lot of excuses. Anyhow, if your looking for a marketing technique that is free but requires time then have you heard of search engine optimization? This is a great way to build targeted visitors to your websites and the internet is flooded with millions of pages on this topic.

Getting leads, or building a list is important and I believe crucial to running a successful business, regardless of what product you are selling.

The dictionary defines a lead as "a prospective customer who has either expressed an interest in a product or service or who has been referred to the seller by a third party". It is essential that leads are followed up promptly so as to reach the prospect before interest diminishes. Being in business whether you are a newbie or not means you already know the importance of leads. But how do you get them?

Basically there are only two ways to get leads: By yourself or through buying them.

If you choose to invest in leads be careful as to who is selling them to you. It is deceivingly easy to get a few names, email addresses and phone numbers and sell these for big bucks. But are you sure they are potential clients and not just random people whose information was copied from the phonebook or from forwarded emails? Before taking out the cash check the credentials of the seller and don't mass-buy if it is the first time you are doing business with them. Ideally you should buy leads that are fresh and not old and more importantly in your sector area.

Also there are some sites that provide tools for building a database. There are also websites that create e-mail content and will send out emails for you. These sites provide subscriptions for a nominal fee.

And if you decide not to buy the leads rest assured that there are many ways for you to get them, though it might involve more self-investment in terms of time and energy.

Step 1: Start with your most basic asset; advertise your product/service well! Through your choice of words and presentation prompt the potential clients to contact you for further inquiry while keeping his interest as high as possible. I have often seen marketers asking people to contact them for more details without putting a single bait at water. I mean why on earth would I call you about a product if the little information you gave me doesn't kindle my interest?

Step 2: Post as many sales leads and products as possible. Get yourself SEEN online. Put related keywords in your products' descriptions so that when they search you will be top of the list.

Step 3: Contact potential buyers if they don't contact you. No need to wait and wail; go to them yourself. If you have purchased leads you can start from there and if you haven't social media platforms such as Facebook are full of people who join groups and fanpages that can be used as search lists.

Step 4: Attend webinars or organize seminars yourself. Not only will you learn from others but you will also get to meet new people and build a contact list.

Step 5: Create an ebook or something of value that entices people to part with their email address. Offer them value, share your knowledge and expertise. There are many different things you could give away, the important aspect is offer value. Be creative.

Wishing you the best of luck. The world isn't against you, you need to change your mindset and stay positive. Get focused. Try different methods, don't be scared. Test and monitor what's working for you.

I think people overthink this stuff.

Building a list is not essential, vital, crucial or anything else - it's optional.

And if you do want one there are a thousand ways to build one.

Just use your brain...... Stop trying to cut corners and have other people tell you how to do it.

If you're taking your business seriously then you're going to have to do some advertising - whether that's free and uses your time or paid - is irrelevant.

You could run a Youtube channel in your niche and be driving people to your sign up page today....

You could sell an info product cheap on Ebay and be driving people to a sign up page today.....

What is it that you're missing?

Just look where your target audience is and go give them what they want.

If you want other people to tell you what to do - you're gonna get 1000 different answers - none of which are as good as you just doing simple steps to help your target audience in the best way for you depending on your knowledge, experience and resources - the things that only YOU know you have.

Stop complaining that it's not easy and get on with it.

Did you try to Google PPV and/or PPV advertising and/or PPV Advertising Networks?

Desmond, it sounds like you are trying to make excuses. Come on man. There are other ways...

Article directories - if your articles match readers' wants, you'll get traffic.

YouTube videos - can just be a PowerPoint presentation - you'll get traffic.

Your inability to build a responsive
list may be your attitude towards your
    prospects.

Are you building a list for yourself?
You have to build a list to fill a need.
Now, what is your offer as a bait?

Is your squeeze page screaming "I want
to build a list to make money FROM YOU".

    about ad swaps...

most people think that you need a big list (or similar sized list as the JV)
to do ad swaps because that's how you see most marketers do it..

but what you're actually doing is 'making a deal' with the other person.

If you don't have a list at all, you can still strike up a deal..

"hey, could you promote my free offer to your list? I don't have a big
list to match yours so I can't repay you with a reciprocal email..

but, I can offer to write 5 blog posts for you, write a sales letter for you,
add your offer on my thankyou page and in my autoresponder, link to
your site from my front page.. could we possibly do a deal like that?"

it doesn't have to be as hard core as the above example but are you seeing
how 'deals' can be made where everyone benefits? that's what JV marketing is
    about!

Think about what you have to offer, not about what you don't have.

Don't think about the barrier; think about how to get around it...

Create an irresistible offer/product and create a sales/squeeze page for it. Then approach some list owners and tell them that you will give them 100% of the sale or they can give your product away to their list for free. If your product is good enough they will do it for the money or because they need to continue to give good content to their lists.

There you go, take it and run with it!
