Chinese SEO - Anyone?

I run an offline search engine optimization consultancy and have been using SEO to great benefit for my own niche websites.

However we have finally been stumped when a particular prospect asked us to SEO their website for the chinese market on Baidu.com and Google China.

Frankly our team has no experience with Chinese SEO and was wondering whether any warriors know anything about this.

Anchor text linkbacks in chinese?
Web 2.0 entites linkbacks in chinese?
Article directories in chinese?

Appreciate any response from fellow experienced warriors.

    Hi Alvin, I have no idea too.

    But I found this article, maybe it can help a little:

    Or at least the article should be able to help you 'smoke' your client while you find the right way to do SEO in Baidu.

    hey Alvin,

    Haven't caught up with you in a while.

    Actually, I suspect it might be easier than you think.

    1) Go to Baidu.com
    2) Search for keywords in chinese
    3) Study the top results
    4) Reverse engineer

    Frankly speaking, I suspect the algorithm to be pretty much the same.

    Thanks for the article, yeah I found that article too on google. Haha it's not very nice to smoke a client. Will want more concrete information if possible. Nonetheless thanks.

    Yeah its been a while. How have you been? =) Your idea sounds simple and good enough. Though there might be too many variables included when doing the reverse engineering. But it's worth a shot I guess. Now I just have to figure out how to read chinese. haha.

    Man..anyone knows the fastest way to learn Chinese? I speak Chinese but don't write very well. It's been quite sometime.
