WP Missing Schedules. --> Calling all WP Guns..

Hey all

Lately, I'm having a big problem in WP.

From the past 1 month, my scheduled posts in WP are being "missed". I have then change the status of the post manually.

I have made no changes in my WP files. I upgraded to WP 3.0, but still the problem persists.

As suggested in some blog posts, I changes the timeout time in the cron.php file from 0.01 to 10 and 20. But that didn't work too.

Please someone help me. I really need the feature to work.

Thanks
Karan

    It's not you.
It's a bug they introduced a few versions ago and never fix.
There is a plugin here “Missed Schedule” Future Posts | Scheduled M.I.A.s Wordpress Plugin — 5ubliminal’s 5pace (registration required) that fixes it. I don't know if it works with version 3.x of WP though.

    @KirkMcD:

Thanks for the link. I'll see if it works or not!

EDIT: I tested it, and it doesn't work. Posts are still being missed!

Okay, on the "totally stupid" side... and I've done worse...

Is the date on your server correct?

It is VERY possible that your web server time is not the same as your WordPress official time.

    Probably a timeout issue.

There is a little bit of code you can change to fix this... it is in..... damnit. Forgot the file. (http.php ??..) Too many beers.

Google around and you should find this solution

Ok. I changed the cron file timeout, but that didn't work.

In the http.php file, I can't seem to have anything to edit.

    Karan,

Did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same issue. Only with mine I'm unable to even get it to change to manual post.

      Hey

I haven't found a solution. But, from the past 3 days, my posts are going good. (Touchwood). Can't say why, though.

What worked for me was to set up a cron job pointing at the "wp-cron.php" set for every hour then to make sure the file had permissions set to "755".

The other thing to check is you time offset in the settings as that needs to be set correctly for where your server resides. I dont use any plugins and mine works fine but without the correct time offset and permissions it misses each time.

And I was having the missed schedule problem for ages until I did the above.

          Thanks Dan.

Currently, my cron is working fine.

But still, I have implemented what you've said and hope that it woks in the long run.

Good luck Karan, shout out if you need any more help.

The main problem with me ended up being the 755 permissions on the wp-cron.php plus the time settings as my server was in the UK.
