A Press Release For This?

Good day everyone.

I just opened up a law of attraction contest as part of my 11 / 11 celebration and my question is this:

Is it worth it to do a press release on this event because it closes on nov 11th.

I have not really worked with press releases so I don't know if they have a delivery period that makes them worthwhile for something of this nature?

BTW- If anyone is looking for GREAT free press release information, Dana_W has a thread on here with great information. I was going to ask her opinion there, but I didn't want to hi-jack her thread, which is about free press release sources.

So what do you all think? Should I pass on a press release because the event is only taking place for 18 more days?

As always,

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Thank you for the plug, I appreciate it! What could it hurt? When you write a press release and submit it to the free sites they generally will have it up and running anywhere from instantly to a few hours to at most a few days. So it would be up in a timely fashion.

If you want tips on how to write it, PM me, I'll tell you how to do it.

Hard to tell. What are the conditions of the contest and what are you trying to accomplish?

If your looking to create or populate a membership site of like-minded ppl, then I would say that a surveyed ad campaign in a targeted campaign would bring better results.

Creating a polled ad campaign through Facebook targeting questions like: Who can most likely to out wit the hockey MOM,Palin? a) McCain's Wife b) Obama's Daughters c) You on any day
(just a silly thought to get the juices following)

Then direct them to your signup page.

Absolutely not. It can't get picked up by a monthly magazine, but so what? A well-done press release can still get you traffic and coverage at niche web sites.

It's definitely worth the effort, especially if you have a fun contest and an unusual prize.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

It would seem that it is indeed worth it, so I shall set to work on it tonight.

I am sure with Dana and Dee's input it should be wonderful.

Dee, sent you a PM also.
