WOW, I actually made REAL cash

Greetings Warriors,

Let me start by saying that I am a newbie and have a keen interest in IM. I started reading free and paid WSO's (spent about $140.00) about Six weeks ago and have found much great info relating to IM right here in the WF. I have read many different posts and I appreciate the help that this forum brings. I am sure I do not speak alone in my appreciation no matter what our level.

After reading/ researching signing up for opt ins etc. I decided to go the route of niche marketing. As my signiture reads I would like to develop ten sites by the end of August. After MUCH reading. NM is my focus and most of what I do in IM is right now. It is going well and I am starting to see some modest gains in traffic/ networking/ not so much in sales as I have not found a good pruduct in my niche. Slow and steady wins the race right? As we speak I am doing the methodical stuff like writing articles, submitting, learning SEO, backlinks, etc. Just flat out basics which take much time but do not bring $56,434 dollars in your account in three days.

However about a week ago I had an idea to promote a certain clickbank product via free online classified ads and so I spent about two hours on the campaign doing the regular things (registration sign-ups, check your email for verifications, write some good ads, getting my CB code etc) This was just for fun as I had a few hours to kill so I thought I would try it out. The past few days. BAM! To the hour I've made about $1100 bucks. No big secret formula. CB product (AS $30.77, Grav 20.33, Avg % sale/65.00, % ref 67.00) Sent out a creative classified ad. That's it. Found a CB product I wanted to promote and did so with online classifieds in my local region. It worked. Not about to quit my day job just yet though

I have two reasons for writing this post. One, to thank the warriors for of all level for your help and advice. Two, for the newbies. Learn the basics and be creative.

Much appreciated. Still so much to learn. My real target is in the niche. Found modest gains there. Found something here and I still think the key is to somehow get creatice in our marketing.

I've been considering an Ebay classified as I hear it's a great way to sell products and also to build a list.
I found an CB product and simply worked it in the employment section of a number of sites in my region. I have not tried any of the biggies like craigslist etc. I went local.

Well done buddy, I was wondering if you could give me some more tips on that, sounds like you are doing Clickbank. I have set that up to fund my main business marketing which is prepaid legal but have not really had the success I wanted. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Hi freemen14,

Congratulations on your success! I have a couple of questions about the ads that you placed.

Did all of your sales come from a single ad that you placed?

If not, then how many ads did you need to place to get these results?

      Thanks.

It is great to see somebody new have such immediate success-- and yes, replication is the key. When something is successful, repeat, repeat, repeat..
The other thing to learn from his post is to always "think outside the box."

        Congrats to you!!

Thank you for the comments. Maybe I got lucky but I do agree with the concept that replication is the key. I keep seeing the term rinse/repeat. For what it's worth from my original post I have had two more $30.14 sales. Again, no big deal as I know I am in a niche that wil dry up soon but still. The power of the internet in terms of marketing?? Quite substanial.

Thank you. I placed one ad of the same text in about five different locations. So. what i did is found a CB (clickbank product) which fit the stats that I wanted based on the wso's and free research which I did. There is a formula there that worked for me in this case. I went to regional classified ad sites in my area and simply wrote an ad to promote that CB product. Feel free to keep asking questions.

Actually, I've been thinking more about this and I'm not sure how you were able to do this because some sites don't seem to allow this type of ad. Just as a test I put up an ad for something on Craigslist and it was flagged within a pretty short amount of time. It was nothing controversial at all, just an outdoor hobbies type of thing from Clickbank. I figured that it might be sort of barely against their terms, but I have to say I was a little bit surprised that someone would pull it down like that. After all, there's no way to embed links, therefore the customer has to email me, then I email them the link to the site I'm promoting.

If anyone knows a good workaround, maybe some way that we can post these types of ads on various classified ad networks in a way that won't seem dubious, please let us all know!

He said he is using local classifieds in his area, and has not tried Craigslist...which is a good thing, because CL doesn't allow ads like that. Someone else will find it, flag it as spam, and it will be gone within hours.

I've helped clients with Craigslist ads before

You can hyperlink text in cl. It does except basic html code. Another trick is to use your own domain to link your graphics since it will help your seo

Dude. Great Freakin' Job! You deserve the praise. It just proves that
you don't have to struggle to make money. And, don't fall in the hype
of "being lucky". You followed a plan you created through to the end,
    and the results were positive.

You had an idea, and you acted. Something few people do these days.

Scale it immensely and take advantage of a good thing that's working.

I hate when people are content with LESS than their potential. They
make xxx amount and say "that's enough". Not really because it's enough,
but because they're afraid of the responsibilities that comes with more
    success.

I say, go big, go hard, go extreme.

I may develop a free WSO on this case study if I can find the time. Up here in Canada I have found three very high traffic employment sites with limited rules. It's really nothing that technical and I know I may have just gotten lucky with this one. Sales are drying up as my ad is becoming old and hidden on the sites. I can only repost after 30 days. There are options to feature the ad so I many

I did direct people to my website through the ad which I think had a legit sales pitch on it. I may start writing some articles and directing more traffic to the site.

I know the OP used online classifieds but you can also use offline classifieds to drive traffic to your sites and also generate some income. Some offers work better then others but the ads that convert usually do extremely well.

Offline classifieds are an untapped source that only a few marketers use to build their lists and sell their products. Although with the recent offline marketing frenzy this might have changed.

Well, I've just spent quite a bit of time looking for decent classifieds sites. One problem that keeps coming up is that I keep running into sites that have stuff like this in their TOS:

"You agree not to post, email, or otherwise make available:
Content or a link to the Content: that constitutes or contains "affiliate marketing", "link referral code", "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", "pyramid schemes", unsolicited commercial advertisement, doorway pages, cloned websites, self-replicated website, Made for Adsense(MFA) website, made for any other PPC engines website, payment requirement to get a job"

Out of the 6 or so sites that I've seen so far which look like they're worth posting on, almost all of them have a provision like that. I'll keep searching, but so far not much luck.

congrats for taking action. it's a simple as that guys. idea==>marketing technique===>sale.

It really is as simple as that. take note the age old adage simple but not easy. key part here is to discover how sustainable this system is and how scalable it is.

then rinse, repeat. master. outsource. boom.

      find another one.

      and another.

OR if it is highly scalable. Scale till there's no tomorrow. of course get paid first if you're doing AM.

Now, locate as many quality free classified ad sites and reinvest some of your earnings to outsource the task of placing your ads on these classified sites.

    Wishing You continued success!

Wow that's so inspirational. How many classified ads did you make before you got this result?

I have two reasons for writing this post. One, to thank the warriors for of all level for your help and advice. Two, for the newbies. Learn the basics and be creative.

    Two Points

    1. Scale and leverage that till you have a passive consistent sustainable income.
    2. Until then don't quit your job.

    Congratulations brother.

P.S - In your post you said "as I have not found a good pruduct in my niche." may be you can now use the product that is a winner using your classified ad strategy for your niche sites too.

    • Congrats.

I have an idea and a product that I'm sure will convert. My biggest hurdle is finding a site that allows you to post affiliate links. Might have to try the email route and see how that goes.
