Paid Advertising Vs. Free Advertising
Well the truth is that they get you the SAME results when it comes to bringing in traffic. The ONLY difference between the two is TIME.
Huh?
Ok, so what you're paying for with paid advertising (PPC, content ads, etc) is the speed in which you are able to generate traffic to you're site. So for example, you set up a ppc campaign with Google in about a week's time you get about a 1000 views to your site.
If you set up the same type of campaign using free advertising methods (article writing, SEO, forum posts, etc.); in about a week's time you will maybe get about 100 views to your website.
So really the question to ask yourself is if you have the time or want to spend the time working and generating traffic to your site.
If you don't mind putting in consistent work and time is not a factor, then you might want to go the free route.
If you are a busy person with many projects, want results quickly, have a nice advertising budget, and you have learned all that is required to be a least a decent paid advertiser, then you want to go the paid route.
Just know if you do it right either method WILL get you your 100,000 visitors in a week or a month.
