Gday warriors

I'm trying to send a screenshot of my site to my designer to help rectify a bug that's driving us crazy.

How would one do this on a Mac?

You can get jing for the Mac jingproject.com (not aft link) it's free, and does video too (5min) the video is great for things like this, you can move the cursor around and point out what you are talking about.

There are few ways to do screen capture in Mac OS X.
    • Switch to the screen that you wan to to do screen capture
    • Hold down Apple key ⌘ + Shift + 3 and release all
    • then use your mouse to click on the screen
    • Done. You will see a picture file in at your desktop. That's the screen capture picture.

You can also do a screen capture for a portion of your screen.
    • Switch to the screen that you wan to to do screen capture
    • Hold down Apple key ⌘ + Shift + 4 and release all key
    • Now, You will see the mouse cursor will change to +
    • You can start to drag your mouse to select the portion you wish to capture.
    • Once finish, you will see a picture file in at your desktop. That's the screen capture picture!

If you want to do a screen capture for a particular application window, you can follow this:-
    • Switch to the screen that you wan to to do screen capture
    • Hold down Apple key ⌘ + Shift + 4 and release all key
    • Now, You will see the mouse cursor will change to +
    • Press the space bar once
    • You will see the mouse cursor change to a camera
    • Now you can use the camera to select which application window to screen capture
    • Once finished, you will see a picture file in at your desktop. That's the screen capture picture!

It's easy to do screen capture in Mac OS X right?
No need to open any program like Paint to paste the copy from clipboard

Why not just use Screenshare? It's free and you can point out what you're talking about in real time. TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet

It only takes a few minutes to sign up and your designer can get the full gist of what you're saying without going back and forth with emails.

P.S. For MAC users, you can get free screen sharing from Mikogo: Free Remote Desktop, Web Conferencing & Online Meetings

Actually one of the best programs for this is Skitch.com. I once downloaded it for a similar purpose as the OP and now I use it virtually every day for grabbing all kinds of images, receipts, screen captures, pictures for ebooks I am writing, even scenes from a video. Its really a must have for IMers on a Mac.

If you are using Firefox: there is an Add-On called ScreenGrab.
With ScreenGrab you can take a screenshot of a custom area, the visible are of a website or the whole website (including the parts you cannot see because of your resolution).

321meet.com is NOT for taking screenshots but for online meetings in general!

Skitch is a good tool but me I'm using SnagIt which is created by the ever popular TechSmith...
