Facebook fan page how to increase followers

I have a FB fan page that I just stared for a new youtube show I'm doing. I want the fan page to help promote my new show but I'm having a hard time gaining fans.

I have already "invited" my current friends to fan my page but after my immediate friends I am kinda stuck. I am in the music niche and I know that I can post on other music fan pages but I dont want to look like a spammer. What are some good ways to promote myself on other peoples pages without looking like a spammer?

I want to use my fan page to drive traffic to my youtube channel so I am looking for any and all ways to help promote my fan page, and gain followers.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks
-Nick

Slowly increase your number of friends. Go to fan pages and groups of similar interest and add people from these pages and groups as your personal friends. Share good and relevant content with these people and every so often post details about your fan page on your profile.

After a while the page will begin to grow all by itself...

Hmmm... I don't know if I got your question correct but may be you're referring to Facebook's Suggest page option. You can suggest the page on some or all your friends so they can also like it or be fans.

I agree. Sharing and looking for people with the same interest can help you get more fans. In fact, once you gained lots of fans coming from the same field of interest, you will notice how the number of fans will increase on your site since they are also looking for network or Facebook connection.

One thing I like to personally do, link my facebook and twitter accounts, when I post on one it posts on the other, helps the reach of my messages

One social media expert said that was not a good thing to do. She said that your followers/fans don't want to see the same message on both.

Everyone has a different opinion and advice. Kinda hard to know what is best.

      Beat me too it!

Here is the link to fivver: Social Marketing related tasks people are willing to do for $5

There is a guy who guarantees 800+ fans: ynnod0524: I will effectively ADD 800 Plus Fans in Your Facebook Fanpage or Group, I Can Guarantee It! for $5 at Fiverr.com

Here is the email to the guy I used last time:

His email is below. I used him once so far and he has tons of reviews on the other forum. I paid 15 for 10,000 invites and got about 350 new fans in less than 7 days or so. I just got 20 new fans in the last 24 hours too. Next time I will probably order 30,000 invites.

I would ask how many of the 'experts' actually have fans in their fan pages themselves. It seems few do.

I have a mate who built up a few fan pages to over 100K and one over 1 million fans. Sure it was a catchy topic that he used which was very topical the thing was once he had one Facebook fan page viral he could just market to that facebook fan page over and over again to make other pages increase. It was very effective.

He built up his first viral fan page by getting in touch with other forum members who had large fan pages and then paid them to send him fans. He did this a few times until his page had expossure to go viral.

It didnt take much time, it wasnt spammy and it didnt involve any friends family, fake facebook accounts. Nothing like that. This in my opinion is a strategy that you should investigate more if you want to drive fans to your fan page in a short period of time. Even if your business is niche specific you can find other page owners in the same niche and approach them...

        Hope this helps

I personally held a give-a-way, where I give away a free program/programs (my ebook) at milestones on the fan page and my results were amazing, infact I have added 3500 people to my fan page in less than two weeks. I gave away programs at 1500, 3000, next at 5000, and then 10k but I did have an amazing response... people adding friends to get to the next mile stone, fans have made encouraging youtube videos, etc.

I also got my friends, and other social media involved to build this number. Hope the idea helps someone!

    Nick,

You have a website already? The best way many people increase their Facebook page fans is by linking to it, from their website....when people encounter great beneficial content on their website, many times, they will click through to become a fan....

    Some will...some won't...it's a gradual process...

Right. I don't promote my website, but my client's websites. I just wanted to know if you can drive targeted traffic to a fan page for money.

Obviously if I'm promoting a shop in London, then promoting it to anyone outside the country will pretty much be a waste of money.

I sent private messages to a couple of people on Fiverr asking the same question. I was told that they could not "target" the invites because they are working on lists with general interests. May or may not be worth the money if you have a local store with no web presence to promote.

You could try making a page in FBML and adding that to your fan page (making it the default landing tab when people go to your fan page). On that you could write some compelling copy to help make it viral. Check this place out: Facebook Fan Page Engine - 100% Custom Facebook Fan Pages for Facebook Marketing

You could also offer a decent giveaway and use a (ethical, FB-friendly) 3 step FBML script (there is a free one available on this forum which works good) which will help it go viral.

Thanks very much mate. I've been experimenting with fan page landing tabs and see a really good opportunity to convert. I'll be setting some up for my clients soon, can you give me the URL for that 3 step thing?

        Nick,

        Found it.

Here is the URL. This 3 step is more ethical and does not 'require' invites to fiends to reveal all the steps which is one thing, so I am led to believe, that FB did not like and was a cause for deleting pages.

        FREE FBML Code->Cash COW!

Here is an example on one of my pages that I set up today: http://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Dail...8063670?ref=ts

You may want to alter the outdated 'Become a Fan' image in step 1 with 'Like' image if the script owner has not already updated it. I did make a new image for this which I used and I sent it to him but do not know if he got round to editing it yet. If not, download & use my image at http://i48.tinypic.com/15n8zrl.jpg

PS Off Topic: About 25 years ago, while on the road for a living, I was the envy of many for being able to 'do' both the ring road (past the Blackbird pub & a big bakery, the Mazda lightbulb place and finally, Walkers Crisp factory near the big roundabout as I remember) and the 'straight through the middle' navigation of Leicester (past the wonderfully named Holy Bones and down the Melton Road which was always magnificent at Diwali). Last time I was there, I see that they have spoiled all the fun by building an easy outer ring road.

Cheers mate. However I do have fairly decent HTML knowledge and could probably code something without filling out an email capture.

Did this one pretty rapidly (just a test page):

          Test Testimonials | Facebook

Click the image and it turns to video. Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to embed a video without having an image you need to click first. But that could work quite well.

@sdentrepreneur, I really liked that video. I'll definitely check out your others.

why dont you try sending mails on facebook to people attaching link to your videos this will make them visit your page and they will start liking it. you wont have to add them. ask your friends to share your videos this will make the videos to be visible to there friends and the will then visit your page...

My other super fan getting plan was implemented yesterday with solid results. I had a "Do a Good Deed Day" and had everyone post a story about the good deed they did. The winner was decided by who's story had the most "likes", and won a free copy of my ebook. What happens here, is people really want to win, so they start messaging all of their friends to go to your page and "Like" their story... which in turn gets you a ton of people unknowingly promoting the crap out of your fan page and people Liking your page to help their friend out.

All great answers, I don't know how to add to it even though I do very well with Facebook groups. Create multiple facebook accounts, add people from music related groups, join as many groups related to your music group as possible, you would find that alot of people would start to request to be your friend on facebook. Down the line, you invite all your newfound friends to become your fan on facebook, hope my little 2cents help.

Here is one video I did on How To Grow a Facebook Fan Page. You can also create some additional Fan Pages, for example, I want to build a list of people here in San Diego. I created a Page called 365 Fun Things to do in San Diego, have close to 1,000 people already. You can then using FBML Code, put your banner ad on the page or directly message all your Fans.

You could request the help of close friends. Invite them to your page and ecnourage them to invite their friends.

Additionally contests does help even offering to mention them in your video might be enough incentive.

Essentially if you don't want to look like spammer don't spam pages or walls instead get ways to get others to invite others to your page!

I personally would want to get people really interested in my fan page.

I am new to this forum but reading through some of these post and thinking a little.

I would invite all my friends, offer my friends some free incentive for them to invite their friends, and then use the incentives again on my fan page at every milestone. Might be a little slow but gradually you should gain more and more fans.

This way you can get more reliable fans and fans interested in your niche, which if you ever create a song or something you have a better fan base to sell to then just people which you payed to like your fan page.

If you want to pay for fans, then go to places such as freelancer.com or other freelancer websites and just pay for the fans, but don't count on them being targeted fans or anything with real interest in what you are offering. Remember they are just there for the money.

    Hope this helps,
    Jeff

We added over 3000 fans to our fan page in just over a week through Facebook PPC. For a brand it may be more expensive, but our intention was to build a community around the fan page in a specific niche that is targeted toward our product.

The trick is to become laser focused on your target demographic and sociographics.

    Here is some tips:
    1) target Facebook users for your market by what they "like" already. Ie, the books they read, the movies they watch, hobbies and professions.
    2) target by age and sex you can find this demographic information through magazine media kits, or other sites like the Doubleclick Ad Planner. They used to provide that data, but it hasn't been coming up lately.
    3) target the top 10 states according to Google Insights initially. We target an initial audience of about 10,000 initially, with a $10 a day spend. The average user in that group sees our ad about 8 times through out the day.
    4) once you have a working ad, release it nationally and increase your budget.

One last tip is to choose your image for the ad wisely. Even subtle difference between portrait and landscape orientation can double your CTR and conversion rate.

Within the ad reporting intself, on average across the campaign 70% of the people that clicked on the ad became fans. We found that it was actually higher, since as people liked the page it also showed up on their newsfeed to their friends.

Once you get a large enough base, you can also target friends of fans, which gives your ad social proof, because the friends names show up on the ad as already liking your fan page.

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

Spread the word to all your friends, tell them to pass the message onto their friends and so on, soon you'll have a pretty big community, make sure you have small and regular events as well, that will attract more people

I was just reading this post and wanted to help out you guys..

The thing is that initial trigger or promotion is very very difficult on facebook even if your page is good...so i just purchased 10k fans on my fanpage lol.

but the thing is that after 10k fans..my fanbase has been continuously growing by 200+ daily and i am very happy now.

i bought these 10k fans at 425$ from the popular company called Socioniks.com. Trust me freinds...after trying all things ..this finally worked and i had 10k+ fans in 30 days... I used fiverr also but that stopped after 100 odd fANS LOL...and the best part is that i got an awsome page setup by these guys at Socioniks.com . so If u want smthing quick..i guess u can go for this..else be stuk with all expert suggestions etc etc that aint gonna work!!:p

twitter integration is also great idea..ill do dis

I don't recommend buying fans if you don't know how to do it properly and most probably you will end up with people who aren't interested in your stuff.

Since you are running a YouTube channel, best idea is to improve contact and call your viewrs to join you on your Facebook page and ask them to tell their friends about it.

Depends what your goals are, but going against terms of service is not a smart thing to do, unless you are going in for quick cash, which doesn't seem to be in this case.

    Hope this helped you out...

No1 recommends you to buy fans...also no1 tells you that dey r afraid that there is no faster way to get fast fans without proper viralising..

so stop folling around yourself wasting your time as i used to to by reading all fancy articles on giving gifts etc on fb page, blah blah that never worked .... best is promote to over thousand ppl your page from some company like SOCIONIKS.COM etc.

its very obvious that unless people can know about the page they wont ike it..and they are not going to know by magic!! so these compnies send them invites and dey join..i dont see any harm in this..

anywaz it depends on person to person..10k fans for 425$ was cheap deal for us..so i bought it..maybe your opinion remains different.. doesnt matter

Sometimes fanpages just grow on their own I start 4 music fanpages about 2 years ago and within a year they had over 10,000 fans.

The thing is I did absolutely nothing I just spent 10 minutes rehashing some info from wikipedia and then just forgot them. No promotion no updates nothing

I'd say definitely make sure the fan page doesnt seem spammy or like you're going to be marketing anything.

Wait until you have a solid number of followers before you start marketing stuff.

when you got those 400 fans, were they responsive fans, or were they simply dead fans that probably got paid to 'like' your page?

or, more simply put, was it worth the money?

      thanks, jerry

Hey guys, there are tons of ways to build followers. Here is one. Simply leverage other pages that are related to your target demographic through tagging other pages, other pages in images, or other people in your contacts. This is how you can build a page fast. If you tag on a viral page then everyone will see it and as long as you write something relevant/funny/social then you can build your page viral in good time. A friend of mine recently got his page up to 40k in 3days using this strategy to help take his page viral.

Here is another strategy you can use to take things viral Booya!!! For Warriors (no opt-in).

The key is really naming a page in a viral manor so that it grows naturally then utilize that pages growth to promote your other pages or website to the fans it builds. Facebook Marketing is like anything...you need a strategy and an intention if you want to really utilize it.
