Ezine articles just upgraded my account...Not!

I maxed out my basic plus account in article submissions today....So I wrote the required little ditty about why EZA should upgrade my account to platinum status. I have only had one article rejected for what they called keyword stuffing and I fixed it and got it approved on the second try.

So I receive an email back from EZA today that states and I quote:

Congratulations, you have been upgraded to Basic Plus status! You
are now able to submit an additional 25 original quality articles.

Yay....I have been upgraded from basic plus to basic plus. How is this an upgrade? Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't know what's going on with EZA, but I know they are really screwed up. I haven't had ONE problem submitting articles in months, then over the last 4 or 5 days every one of them are kicking back for links that are "against their editorial tos". I read that, and I don't see one thing I'm doing that is against their rules.

Getting a little fed up with them, but I just keep submitting to them and other article directories. Maybe one day they will get straightened out!

All I can suggest is that you email them back and explain that you were already a "basic plus" member. Good luck

Unless you never made an error with your first 10 articles this will always happen. Now you do 25 articles and they'll let you in. It's standard and you'd know this if you'd read the agreements and help stuff.

As frustrating as EA can be at times, you really can't beat the quality of traffic they provide.

Been testing the paid-for account for the last few weeks and the turnarounds are impressive. I don't know if it's worth what they are asking per month, but to get your articles up in a couple of hours OR LESS is pretty nifty. CS is also at another level too.

Yes I did email them back and asked them how basic plus to basic plus is an upgrade....What really kind of ticks me off is that I forked over the 97 bucks for a premium account also. My articles have all been getting approved in a matter of minutes.


I haven't had any trouble with EZA until this.

It's an upgrade because you can submit another 25 articles. Don't have any more problems and you'll get to platinum.

I had exactly the same thing: I couldn't even submit 2 articles at the same time because I had hit the limit of 10: I had already had correspondence with them because they accused me of using an illegally copied image: they apologised it was a site using my article that had done it, and thanked me for assisting them and still only got basic plus!
Its also taking up to a week to get stuff approved - so yes I am pissed with them too. $97 is a lot just for instant article approval!

I have thirty four live articles at this time....so you are saying that you have to have 60 articles to reach platinum status?

I was invited today to apply for platinum status and they denied me saying I had to write 25 more before I can apply again....I would expect this if someone was consistently getting articles rejected or consistently trying to submit articles that were against the tos. But I haven't had any problems so that is what I do not understand.

Just do what you need to do to get Platinum Status, looking at my CTR, it's definitely worth it!

I must say with all the EZA bagging lately (some of it is justified I'm sure) but I have had not 1 problem yet.

All my articles have been accepted and my platinum upgrade request was upgraded too...all of this happened very recently too.

This is the platinum request message I sent..it may help others:

"I have been a longtime member of EZA and love what you guys stand for.

Since I have had 10 articles accepted out of 10 submissions so far, I feel I have proved my "worth" and would love to continue being a part of the EZA community and sharing my articles with others."

I believe this is standard these days-don't get yourself down! I have never had an article rejected and I was upgraded to basic plus before platinum. The reason I think it's standard now is because I got a notice that I was upgraded to platinum, but my account (at the time) said basic-plus. That leads me to believe they were shifting things over at the time.

Of course, I could be totally wrong, lol!

The moral of the story is...you're not the only one- and I know you're an awesome writer

EZA is not perfect but they are the best and have the right to call there own shots. Just bust out 25 more articles and you are on your way.

You are right....I just get frustrated sometimes. I know I am a good writer and I don't need EZA to tell me that

But I was a little bit excited to think that I had finally made it to platinum status.

I will wait and see what their answer is tomorrow. Maybe they just made a mistake. (fingers and toes crossed.)

It's true that it's their business and they get to call the shots... but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

I was recently upgraded from Basic directly to Platinum Status without any of my articles rejected. I sat in the university library as if I doing an exam and wrote 20 articles without referring to any material. Since I am terrible at typing, I then gave a friend my articles to type into ms Word. After receiving the articles, I did a bit of editing of the articles so I guess that my articles were 100% unique. Prior to writing the articles I looked at different articles and wrote the key points in my own words

God I've been knocked back from platinum twice now I keep getting articles rejected for dumb stuff that they never had a problem with before. I'm starting to feel like I'll never get it

I'm not saying whether it is right or wrong, but wouldn't it make sense to deny Platinum status to most people? I am willing to bet that some people write less articles once they reach that elusive Platinum status. The challenge is gone.

If they upgrade people to Basic Plus, they will continue writing articles, adding content to their site, and making them more money.

Just a thought.

While this might make not make sense to those that are doing this as a main source of marketing, I would bet a fair share of their authors do not write for the sole purpose of gaining traffic and backlinks.

I've been denied Platinum status before, but so what? You remain Basic Plus, submit your 25 articles, and then they'll approve you for another 25... big deal.
