Newbies, are you seeking help or a handout?

Hello all,

I don't mind helping people learn something that I know well enough to teach, but I think a lot of newbies have the wrong idea about internet marketing. You can make a lot of money. You can get things set up so that you only work a few hours a week. You can make money while you sleep. BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR ALL OF THAT!
You need to understand that this is a business, and like any other business it takes planning and execution. You can make money overnight, as long as you spent a lot of nights before setting up your business model to launch.
Work hard, and don't expect more than some random advice for free. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Now go earn a living.

Making money online takes ALOT of work and I think the main reason most people don't succeed is because they are not ready to do enough work.

There are two sides to it.

A lot of people don't get started for a long time, because they think getting started is hard. It's not. Getting started is dead easy. You can get started in less than an hour without spending a dime.

Once people get started, they don't get successful for a long time, because they think getting successful is as easy as getting started. It's not. Getting successful is a long, hard road that requires a lot of study and some tough decisions.

What really hurts people is that they sit around afraid to get started for months, learning little and doing less, and then when they finally get started they have this immediate rush of accomplishment - followed by the dismayed recognition that they haven't really gotten much of anywhere. And once that sets in, they quit.

The usual duration of this process is about six months.

Almost everyone on this forum who is experiencing success online started from nothing. A couple of years ago I didn't know how to put up a simple website, I had no clue what article marketing or list building was, and I had never even heard of the Warriorforum!

I got sucked into the hype of a few business opportunities, and eventually I realized something that all newbies need to understand:

While you need a great product to sell (if going the affiliate or product creation route) the most important aspect of online marketing is knowing how to market your product or service in an effect manner, and create a system so that the marketing can be done when you are not even around!

Last year (July 2009) I went on vacation for a week, and when I came back I had made $587 in affiliate commissions. Not bad since I was sitting on the beach for a week and didn't even take my computer!

The problem is that most people think this success will happen immediately, and it just doesn't. If you are going to make a living marketing online, then you must realize it takes time, a hell of a lot of effort, and some patience.

You can get to the point where you only work a few hours per week, but you must work your tail off to start with!

I'm in agreement with the general tone. A business is a business and it doesn't matter if it's online or a shop in the street. Hard work, organisation, marketing, customer service and more hard work are still required.

It's great to wake up, log on and discover I've earned some money while I slept but it's only because I work hard during the day! It is great to commute on foot upstairs to the office rather than to the train station but it still needs consistent hard work.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to presume that most people who find this forum find it because they want to make money online. And most of those people really don't have a solid idea about how to approach making money online. So they read some threads, download a couple of free ebooks, and maybe buy a couple of tantilizing WSOs and join the War Room.

The problem is that many get stuck at that level. They just can't seem to break out of the cycle of looking for ways to make money online. They're always looking, but never doing.

My best advice is to just pick something and DO IT. If it doesn't work for you, you've successfully found something not to do again. Pick something different and DO IT. Until you implement something, it's only theory and speculation. Failing is moving forward. Not taking action is stagnation. Keep doing. Retain what works for you and improve on it. Throw out what doesn't.

    Hello,
I offer to help newbies on a everyday basis, 99 percent of them still do nothing and then they wonder why nothing works for them.
I am starting to think that a newbie will not be happy until I put some money into their
    Paypal account for them.

People just underestimate how long it can take to get solid results. If your new, unless your incredibly lucky, or have some serious help, its going to take a lot of time and effort, its as simple as that.
