Has Anyone tried this? Another way to get subscribers...

Something I came across while working on my newest blog/site yesterday that someone might want to adopt.
I was writing a rather long article to use for the first page of the site since I mix static pages with posts. This technique works well for me since I can put the major content in pages and keep it updated with posts...

Anyway, I put the article together in Wordpad and then put it aside to let it sit for a bit while I worked on the site theme and sidebar content, etc.

When I went back to edit the article I just clicked on it and it was loaded in Word, or at least Open Office's version of Word so i went ahead and fixed it up there and got it ready to copy and paste to the site.

I've been toying with the idea of my first ebook so when I finished and was taking a break I saved the file as a .pdf to get a feel for how it works. Seamless, sweet...

So I've got this new blog ready to release to the world, about 1500+ words worth of content ready to go, and this .pdf file I just made for sh*ts and giggles.

Being so proud of my article and all, the thought hit me that I wouldn't mind having a copy of that available as a .pdf so...

What if you offer your visitors a pdf download of some of your really good site content in exchange for their email address?

Crazy idea?

    Hi Steve.
    You could do that.
You could also offer a small e-course.
If you enjoy writing 1,500 word articles, you have the makings of a 3 to 5 day e-course.

Another way to gain subscribers is to sell "short reports".
These may contain 5 to 7 pages that are extremely focused content based on the topic at hand.

Yet another way is to collect PLR articles and rewrite them, Using them as site content, reports, e-courses etc, etc...
