My site get high bounce rate, Please Help!

Hello everybody,

I was looking over my statistics, and noticed that my site gets a very high bounce rate. (I am still not allowed to post links here yet, but its feedtherightwolf .org or you can just google feedtherightwolf )

The only thing that I can think of that might be causing it is my graphics, because people don't even get a chance to read my content.

Or do you think its the content that is the problem?

Or maybe something else?

And can you give any advice on what I can do to keep the traffic?

    Well it depends..having a high bounce rate isnt particulary bad.

    Are you making money with Adsense?

    I see you have adsense on your site....well if they are reading your content then leaving by via the adsense ads...thats a good thing isnt it?

    First thing when I visited, I had no idea what I was supposed to do on the site...what is your "Call to Action"? You need to make that clear otherwise they don't know why they are there and what they are supposed to do.

    Second be clear as to who your market is and speak to them specifically. Do you want to talk to people who are addicted to pornography or to the people who are searching for help for their loved ones...very different audiences and approaches.

    Third, I've used exit pop-ups on one of my sites and have gone from a 97% bounce rate to a 23% bounce rate. Might be worth checking them out and see if you can have it work well for your site too.

      My adsense is only at the bottom of my post so I am pretty sure that is not what is causing it. If it was I would be OK with it.

      I really liked the exit pop-ups idea. Thank you. I host my site on blogger, I am not sure if it would be possible to install on there, but I will look into it, perhaps something can be done.

      Where do you think I should put the call to action, and what could it be like? I am new to this stuff, and I would really appreciate help.

    Do you have a google analytics account? If so, what are you primary sources of traffic and what is the bounce rate of that traffic?

    From my experience, high bounce rate is usually associated with non-targeted traffic. An example of this would be generic traffic from search engines. While traffic from blogs, and forums might be a little more targeted.

    Are you running any banners on other sites? If so, what is the bounce rate of that traffic?

      Most of my traffic comes from search engine, and most of it is somewhat targeted tothe content that I provide. They search for related terms, but they don't stick around to find the answer to their questions.

      And I do not run banners. I get returning visitors who search for mysite directly and they usually stay on my site from 30min to one hour.
