Hi, newby'ish here. I'm stepping into ClickBank products for the first time. I remember seeing around these forums different reccomendations about what to look for in the numbers for gravity, percentage reffered.
I remember what they are for and why they're important, but I can't find those numbers again, does anyone have a guiding set of numbers that would help me kick off my first sales most successfully?
I also interested in why people often reccomend products with a low gravity number?
many thanks BR.

Products with low gravity generally have fewer affiliates marketing them, thus less competition when bidding on PPC ads. The other numbers, the higher the referred number the more sales are coming from affiliates as opposed to the sales the publisher is generating themselves.

The inner workings of the gravity number are pretty much a mystery, it has something to do with how many affiliates are promoting it and how many conversions they are getting.

You will want different values depending on how you are planning to promote the product.

Your best bet is to get Affiliate Elite if you haven't already. You can get it for like $4.95 the first month, and you get access to a TON of training videos that explain all the Clickbank numbers really well. And it's a great tool to find the exact keywords and adwords ads any website is using, including all the info the most successful affiliates are using to promote any Clickbank product.

Gravity is a bogus number, and you would do well to ignore it. Pick your product based on if you believe the sales page will convert, and there are no holes in it.

How do you know if the sales page is going to convert? Did it sell you on the product? That would be the best way I can think of.

As far as holes are concerned, if there are forms to collect name and email address, then that is a red flag. It is very possible that a vendor can cut you out by sending the follow up email pitch with his own affiliate link in it, and thus you will lose out on the commission. Now just because there is a form to collect that information does not mean that the vendor is going to cut you out, but the possibility is thee. Some people just don't want to take that chance.

I would highly recomend that you do a search for Alexia Smith and read her posts on this subject. She is one of the most knowledgeable people on this forum on affiliate marketing as it pertains to Clickbank. She recommends choosing low gravity products because of the less competition. But read her posts and let her tell you herself.
