How many paypal accounts you are allowed to have.

I was under the impression it was 2, but I'm not sure

Thanks

When I signed up last year it was one personal account and either one business or one premier account.

However what they tell you on the their phone support doesn't always go along with this.

Am not sure also but I think you can have one account linked to one email address. So if you want more you may need to use different email addresses.

    From the paypal TOS

Yes. You can have one Personal account and one Premier or Business account. You can add more email addresses, debit or credit cards, and bank accounts to your account, but each account must have its own email address and financial information. You can also upgrade your Personal account to a Premier or Business account.

Kim, it's one business and one personal... (if you're an individual)

However, you could essentially have an unlimited number of PayPal accounts if you run a number of different limited companies (which are different legal entities - you'd need different PP accts for your accounting).

Best port of call would be to speak to PayPal directly on the phone and let them know what you need and they would be able to talk you through what you'll need to do.

    Thanks guys

Q I missed that, so thanks for the info

I wanted to set up an account with someone I'm going to be working with, but didn't fancy having to set up a company or something, (to much like hard work)

    Cheers

Kim, I think Karl pretty much detailed it for you. I have two, a personal and a business. Both have their own email, my personal has a yahoo whereas the business account has my business email. But, I think in order to see what best suits you, you are probably better off talking to a PP rep.

      Kim -

One thing you can do is to set up an email for that person to use with paypal as one paypal account can be associated with more than one email account.

Pls go set up a proper account.
It will pay you much better in the long run.

Every time you need to work in conjunction with another, setting up proper accounts
ought to be the best scenario. If you have reasons to believe otherwise, you are on
your own. At least you know the risk factors.
I know its usually much easier to allow
things to be loose. In the final analysis, its not the best.

As for the first question you asked, comprehensive answers have been given viz Personal, Business (preferably one account for each institution/organization).
Confirm with Paypal's Rep so that you can have a proper reference, for tomorrow.
