Payment transfer question for U.K marketers

Hi,

I was just wondering if any U.K marketers have used a U.K version of Escrow or something similar for a secure payment over the net? I'm selling a website and myself and the buyer are looking for a transfer service. I'll use Escrow if there is nothing else but if I could avoid it due to getting absolutely shafted by my own bank with large U.S dollar transactions it would be great.

Thanks in advance

Yves

Unfortunately that is true for this kind of thing.

    Thanks anyway

Have you considered the escrow service provided by Sedo.co.uk? You may not end up saving much after all the fees, but I believe they give you a currency option (USD, £ or EU).

Thanks Frank, Escrow has a pile of fees also with international transactions and the standards fee and it's the dollar/pound conversion swindle by my bank that's the problem anyway so I'll check Sedo out.

        Cheers

Since April 2010, Transpact.com has been operating in the UK and across Europe.

Transpact.com is a UK Government registered escrow company (FSA and HMRC) - always, always check the Government registration online with the relevant government agencies, as there are so many fake escrow services out there quoting false references.

And Transpact.com does NOT charge a percentage fee ! It charges only a £3 / €3.50 flat fee per party !

I think it may be exactly what you are looking for.
(Declaration - I work for Transpact, but since you asked a direct question I believe I am allowed to notify you of our new company's existence.)
