clickable links in your emails...

I'mm noticing more and more html emails from other marketer's where their links are not clickable.

I know it's an easy enough matter to copy and paste the URL into your browser, but I wonder how many of your subscribers can either be bothered or actually know how to do this.

I've found when using both aweber and 1sc to send out html emails, I have to go through the message and force them into being clickable. (A bit tiresome, but worth it).

How many of the links in your emails are not working

Cheers
Kim

This is a good point Kim!

I make the effort to go through all my mails and make links clickable - why wouldnt you?

You need to make things as easy as possible for people to interact and ultimately buy from you.

I am one that cant be bothered pasting a link into the browser window!
So even though Im currently loading a 365 day campaign, on custom html form with extra features added - I am STILL making a point to make the links link!

This is quite amazing really, isn't it.

I use AWeber and simply send a test, just to make sure. It only takes a few seconds.

I've noticed that too. Those that I've seen that aren't clickable are https addresses rather than http. I don't know if those are direct aff links or what -- but folks should probably redirect through http if it's the https causing the problem.

(And as mentioned by others, test links before sending.)

I think that https tends to be used for secure services and so has at least one additional layer of encryption built into the protocol. Perhaps this is why they are not clickable.

But that's my opinion, I'm no expert!

    I've noticed that as well.

My wife was b*tching at me because some my links didn't work.
And, as fate would have, she found that to make the links clickable in the plain text emails you need to activate the links in the html messages.

Not sure about the https thing.

But, if I'm not mistaken an https url can be accessed without the 's'.
