Finding a article you wrote on anothe Blog

Hey there warriors, I've been writing a new blog for my video gaming niche and I noticed someone put one of my Ezine articles on their website. The article is unchanged, but they renamed the title. Should I be concerned or let it go? For one because they left a backlink to my site, I would think that would be kind of stupid if their intention was to steal my article. I saw another website put my article on theirs but gave me credit. I'm more concerned about the person who took the article and renamed it for their benefit.

But then again I got a backlink... should I bother contacting the owner of the blog or let it go?

    Hey Frank,

    EZA allows publishers and bloggers to republish other articles on their website...if they keep the link as is and that's what happened with your article - so it's OK, no - its great!

    Wouldn't you like 1000 of other people doing the same? Taking 1 article you wrote and putting it on their website while leaving the link?! Of course you would - so let it go.

    Now, sure they did change the title of the article, so what? - If you focus on checking who's using your articles you'll be wasting a lot of time and that will just cause a headache - then you'll need Asprin and pills and that costs money :p - forget about it! write the article and move forward...don't dwell...

    They left the backlink that is GREAT! You are getting free advertising and free backlinks!

    Personally, I find my articles stolen all the time with no backlink and no credit. And they did not change a single word!

      I think that it is you who should get frustrated and pissed shaggard..... That's intellectual piracy........ And the worst part is that they did not give you either a backlink or credit.....

      As for you Frank.... I think you should contact the site owner who renamed your article. If they want to use it, they should not touch a thing about it because they don't have the right to do so.....only you....

    if you post it on ezine than everyone can grab the article but they need to link to the source.

It's how I get my names (pen-names) out there and promote my websites and get targeted traffic and make sales. This is where the real money is, in article marketing. Look at this way: every time someone does that, they're doing some of your off-page SEO for you, and usually in front of a targeted audience.

      I was wondering though, what happens if you find some websites that don't leave a link, or add the no follow tag would you contact them and ask them to remove the article, or to add your link?

          That seems like a bit of work (for me) considering the fact that most people who remove the backlinks run fake blogs...

          But I did like the idea that by keeping track of who publishes your article you can actually contact them later on maybe for a guest post (taking into consideration they are authority websites which have a significant amount of traffic)...

          An easy way to keep track of who publishes your articles would be to use Google alerts with the title of your article in quotes, get an RSS output and using yahoo pipes to merge those and just read it through Google Reader once a while...quick and easy to set up shouldn't take more than 1.5 min per article.

    Anytime my articles are used I consider it a compliment. You got your backlink, so smack yourself on the back and call it a weekend.
