How much should I charge for advertsing on my web site?

I got this email out of the blue, from a guy at Linkstar (linkstar.co.uk)

Hi

I work for Linkstar, a leading broker of online advertising, dealing with many thousands of independent webmasters worldwide. We currently have a client in the telecoms industry for whom we are looking to acquire advertising from quality websites.
We've had a look at your site and think that it would be a good match for our client, whose target demographic is similar to your own.

We would be interested in purchasing advertising in the form of a text-based link on your site. To reduce unnecessary admin and hassle, we prefer to pay a fixed annual upfront fee for such advertisements. Once the ad has been placed, payment can be made quickly by PayPal or an alternative method if you choose.

If you are interested, please get back to me with your rates etc. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
******

So what would be a fair rate?

Go to dnscoop.com and see what that says..

Type in your URL at the top of the page... it will give you some info like that, but more importantly, think about it yourself and what you want to charge

    Peace

I got that same email. Maybe they are looking for sites through WF members?

We'll, if they're throwing money at me (and it seems like they are, I've just been emailing a bit with them now), that's fine with me ;-)

It depends on your alexa rank / PR / traffic / CTR.

My site receives about 600 visits per day with approximately 4 page views per visit and I charge $40 p/m for 125x125.

    It's up to you.
