Help with wordpress login

I have lost my password so I tried to reset it. It sends me a new email to reset but when I click on the link the wordpress login page just keeps saying that key is incorrect.. Please submit email to reset password.

Is there another way to do this.. I can't get into my blog..

    If you can get into your cpanel you can edit the database to change your password. Click on your database name, browse the 'users' table and edit the entry for your username. Change the string of gobbledygook in the password field to your new password - just enter it in plain text - then click on MD5 in the drop-down menu next to it and hit 'go'.

    Disclaimer: you can do a lot of damage messing about in your database, although even I've never managed to screw up here. Just take it steady, OK.

      I am sorry for sounds stupid here, but I am not the one that set it up.. It was my old programmer so I dont even know where to go to access the database your referring to..lol..

      Would it be in my godaddy account or within wordpress?

    Do you upload your own files via FTP?

    Go to your site's main page in your browser and add 'cpanel' to the URL. The username and password you're asked for should be the same as those you use for FTP. Once into cpanel, click on 'sql databases', then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on phpmyadmin. You should be able to edit your database from there.

    I hope this makes sense. My teenage daughter has been chatting to me constantly for the last half hour and it doesn't look like she's going to shut up any time soon

    If you're hosted at GoDaddy, you won't have cPanel. You'll need to get into your hosting control panel and follow the links to Manage Databases.

    PM me if you can't get it fixed up. While doing this is relatively easy for people that know their way around, it can be frustrating having to do it the first time on your own.

    All the more reason why you should get a coder to remove that MD5 encryption from the db for admin password .. It does nothing to protect your wordpress or admin login..
