if company doesn't respond to a question, does it mean the affiliate program isn't trustworthy?

i signed up as an affiliate with a program.... i wrote them asking some questions, and there was some back-and-forth.... my last question, though, they haven't responded to yet. i asked them about affiliate earning stats - how much the top affiliate is earning, how many are earning a good amount, etc.... the fact that he didn't respond, should that raise any red flags or not necessarily?

From being an owner of an affiliate program I can see the problems the company is having, I know from personal experience I will not divulge how much my top affiliate is earning, it is a breach of privacy/trust. Also with how many are earning a good amount - what you perceive a good amount is and what I would are probably 2 different things, this also might fall very close to being a breach of privacy/trust.

If anything I'd try to talk to other affiliates of the program, find out there opinion on it

i see. that makes sense... as far as finding out affiliates, any tips for how i can find them? i tried google searching "<name of their site> affiliate program review" and similar searches, which i guess isn't too surprising. any sites where affiliates go to talk about their experiences? other ideas?

For me that would be red flag since they didn't even respond with a polite "I can't divulge that" I always email their email listed on their affiliate site I'd send people to since I want to know if my referrals are going to receive a response when they write! I don't want to refer people to sites with owners that don't care enough to write back to requests in a timely manner since I expect more than that.

Forums, I think you are on the right track seeking out their websites though.

I have been registering for various affiliate programs for years now and I find that in most cases it's difficult to get a response from an affiliate manager. Generally it's because the company will assign some admin person to handle it and they have a hundred other things to do as well. A lot of companies don't realize the importance of their affiliate programs or they just don't have the time.
