how long till you move on?

So I'm new to making my own products, right? So... I've had my product up for about a week and no sales.

I'm not about to give up on it after a week but how long should I go till I give up?

I'm thinking of just giving the eBook out for free and collecting email addresses.

How are you selling it? Through your own site? As a wso? To your list?

How many visitors does your wso/site get? How many are on your list?

Are you getting organic searchers looking for the subject of your product?

I guess what I'm saying is - you haven't really given us enough information.

Are you getting lots of visitors to your product who aren't buying?

Are you getting no visitors to a hot product that you know they'd want if only you could get visitors?

    You're right, I haven't.

I have it setup on my own site (still wondering if I should push it through Clickbank for sales, your thoughts?).

    Since I've launched I've gotten a little over 200UVs.

Traffic is a mix of backlinks and PPC. Yeah I pushed a little traffic to it.

I don't think it would be a good WSO. It isn't a product for making money or anything like that. Come to think of it, I've never checked that section... maybe I should.

I think it's a good product but it's very... specific at the people who would want to buy it.

In that case you need to find out where your specific audience hang out. Are there any specialised forums, for example? Is there a Facebook or Yahoo group for them?

200 UVs is too little to make a judgement on. I wouldn't give up and just start giving it away. Not yet.

In general, you can't draw any conclusions on your sales page's effectiveness until you hit 600 UVs.

And keep in mind that a lot of successful products started out with conversions on the wrong side of the decimal point.

oh there are tons of places like that. I didn't want to seem like a link whore (is that word allowed here? lol). I'll just have to suck it up and push it harder.

What are your thoughts about Clickbank?

If you don't have your own site, then how are you selling the product?

I've tried targeting my traffic as much as possible but I haven't really went to any existing websites based on my niche other than to put up some links.

I could give becoming an active part of a community a go.

I do have a website for it. I thought I said I did above.

Keep pushing man, its to early to tell. I would try and push it through click bank as well but just make sure you keep a handle on your figures.

yeah you're right. I'm not saying I'm going to give up right away. I was just wondering if anyone would share their expectations and when to just let something go or change it.

When you have exhausted all your ideas and efforts, that is the time to let it go.

    Otherwise, keep pushing.
